Obwohl ich diese komische Ding hier rumliegen habe, bin ich noch ganz froh, es bisher nur zwei Mal benutzt zu haben. Jeweils zum Entfernen von Holzsplittern aus dem Finger. (Wer sich jetzt fragt, wie man mit einem Buch einen Holzsplitter entfernt, hat eindeutig den Schalk im Nacken.)

Even though I have this weird thing lying around here, I'm still very happy to have used it only twice. Respectively for removing splinters from the finger. (Who now wonders how to remove a splinter with a book, clearly is an old little prankster.

So langsam streckt der Frühling seine Fühler aus.

Gestern sah ich die ersten Mückenschwärme um unser Wuschelgras fliegen.

Kann man auch drauf verzichten, finde ich.

Also auf die Mücken, nicht auf den Frühling!

Das Motiv ist eine Reminiszenz an den »Erfinder« der Daily Painting Bewegung in Amerika, Duane Keiser.

Crane Flies

Slowly the spring has to put out  its feelers.

Yesterday I saw the first swarms of gnats flying around our curly grass.

I have to admit that I do not really need them damned mosquitoes.

The design is a reminescence to the »inventor« of the daily painting movement in America, Duane Keiser.

Am Wochenende war ein liebe Aquarellfrendin zu Besuch und wir haben natürlich zusammen gemalt. Ich habe mir ein relativ abstraktes Motiv herausgesucht. Das errät bestimmt wieder niemand, was das ist? (Auflösung morgen – ich freue mich aber eure Vermutungen hierzu.)

Also das Gen zum Schuhekaufen hat was mit den Chromosomen zu tun.

Chromosom heißt wörtlich übersetzt "chrōma" für Farbe und "sōma" für Körper.

Also Farbkörper, womit wir wieder bei der Malerei wären.

Magie!

So this is the gene to buy shoes in some kind of women. 

That has something to do with the chromosomes.

Chromosome literally translates as "chrōma" for color and "sōma" for body.

So it is the color body, which brings us back to the subject of painting.

It's magic!

Nach unserem selbst organisierten neunstündigen (!) Kurs Aquarellbegeisterter im Atelier von Audrey, finde ich meine einfachsten Übungsskizzen fast am schönsten.

Wir haben gegenseitig von den Tipps und Erfahrungen profitiert und es hat zudem einen Riesenspaß gemacht. So soll es doch sein! Danke auch an Kati, die dies alles meisterlich with a little help from a friend ;) durchstrukturiert hat.

People in Watercolor

After our nine-hour (!) workshops for and with watercolor enthusiast in Audrey's studio, I like my simplest exercise sketches the most.

We have mutually benefited from the given advice and experiences.

And it was a lot of fun too. This is, how it should be!

1276 The Blues Band

Gestern abend war ich auf dem Konzert der fabulösen Blues Band. Zum ersten Mal sah ich sie live im WDR Rockpalast 1980. Und mit genau diesem Programm tourt sie nun 35 Jahre später wieder herum. Es war ein eindrucksvolles schönes Konzert. 

Heute ist der Kurs "Menschen im Aquarell" der DAGGWS Regionalgruppe West. 

Habe die ganze Woche ja schon Menschen geübt...

Last night I was at the concert of the fabulous Blues Band. For the first time I saw them live at Rockpalast in 1980 (a TV Event). And 35 years after this is precisely the program of their actual tours around now. It was an impressive and awsome concert. 

Today is the workshop "People in Watercolor" by the DAGGWS Regional Group West. 

That's why I have practiced figurative painting the whole week long...
