1549 Hawkeye

Früher lief die Serie *M*A*S*H* beinah täglich über den Äther. Hawkeye Pierce war der Lazarettarzt des Mobile Army Surgery Hospitals. Dieses Hawkeye begegnete mir allerdings in Dänemark im Chorgestühl des Doms zu Ribe.

The TV series *M*A*S*H* was one of my favorites "when I was young" and it was broadcasted each and every day. Hawkeye Pierce was the hospital physician of the Mobile Army Surgery Hospital. However, this Hawkeye, I met in the choir stalls of the Cathedral in Ribe / Denmark.

Ist nicht nur eine liebevoll respekterweisende Ansprache an eine nicht immer im Rahmen des Erlaubten oder Sittsamen agierende Person. Der Begriff beschreibt auch, wonach es bestialisch zu stinken begann, als sich ein Köter ein paar Meter neben mir begann zu wälzen, natürlich genau da, wo ich dieses Bild en plein air malte. 

»Sau-Aas« literally is a mixture of the German word for "wild boar" in combination with "carrion". Not only is this a lovingly and respectful address to a person who's not always modest or political correct (but, man, he's cool!). 

The term also describes, how it started to stink bestially when a dog began to roll on the forest soil a few feet next to me.

1536 Halloween Surprise

Das ängstliche Blöken eines Lamms wurde vom schneidenden Wind verzerrt über die modrige Sumpflandschaft getrieben. Mein Blick fiel durch das schmierige Fensterglas in den nur von einer rußenden Fackel beleuchteten Speiseraum. Das Lamm verstummte. 
Sein Körper war chirurgisch, wie mit einem scharfen Skalpell gespalten worden. Ein Blick auf die teilweise vermoderten Fasern und wimmelnden Maden ließ keinen anderen Schluss zu: Hier war ein pedantischer verrückter Liebhaber des schrecklichen »Casu-Marzu-Rituals« am Werk gewesen (AUFLÖSUNG HIER).
So oder ähnlich hätte ich das wohl auch schon zu meinen besten Zeiten in der Untertertia hinbekommen. Seinerzeit hat man aber noch brav den Reformationstag gefeiert. »Halloween« gab's 1978 in Deutschland nur als (meiner Meinung nach) schlechten Film von John Carpenter.

Halloween-Surprise
The sound of a bleating lamb came across this rotten and musty swamp. My eyes filled with pain as I looked through the greasy window glass into the dark room. The only light in this larder was a sooty torch. Suddenly the lamb went silent. 
His loaf was surgically splitten by a sharp scalpel. His rotten body was infested with slimy maggots and allowed no other conclusion: This was the work of a lunatic pedant with a fanatic love for the dreadful »Rite of Casu Marzu« (see HERE).
Not even better than this was my story-telling in my best (or worst) times in the lower third class in school. At that time, children dutifully celebrated the Reformation-Day. »Halloween« was introduced to Germany in 1978 by John Carpenter's (amho) bad horror movie.

1535 Weite Prärie

Nach dem Zoo-Event sprang mich diese Bisonherde an (nicht wörtlich ;). Vor ziemlich genau 10 Jahren grasten diese allerdings noch friedlich im Yellowstone Park. 

Vast Prairie

After the zoo event this wild bison herd run into me (not literal ;). Almost exactly 10 years before, these wild bunch were grazing peacefully in the Yellowstone Park.
