Heute ein gechilltes "Making Of" des aktuellen Bildes auf meiner Staffelei. Da ich diese hektischen Zeitrafferaufnahmen auf insta usw. eigentlich nicht mag, habe ich das Reel etwas mehr laid back angelegt.

Today a chilled "making of" the current image on my easel. Since I actually don't like these hectic time-lapse shots on insta etc, I laid out the reel a bit more laid back.

Aujourd'hui, un "making of" décontracté de l'image actuelle sur mon chevalet. Comme je n'aime pas vraiment ces prises de vue en accéléré sur insta etc, j'ai mis le reel un peu plus à l'écart.

Hier nun das Ergebnis. Die lange Zeit nicht praktizierte Ölmalerei ging mit erstaunlicherweise recht gut von der Hand in den Pinsel und auf die Leinwand. Besonders mag ich auch den Geruch frischer Ölfarbe. Ich verwende wasservermalbare Ölfarben, was den Vorteil hat, dass man keine zusätzlichen Terpentine oder Verdünner nutzen muss. Das Werkzeug wird einfach mit Wasser und Seife gereinigt und die Farben verdünne ich wirklich auch mit Wasser. 

Here now the result. The long time not practiced oil painting went with surprisingly quite well from the hand into the brush and onto the canvas. I also particularly like the smell of fresh oil paint. I use water-mixable oil paints, which has the advantage that you do not have to use additional turpentine or thinner. The tools are simply cleaned with soap and water and I really dilute the colors with water as well.

Voici maintenant le résultat. La peinture à l'huile que je n'ai pas pratiquée depuis longtemps a étonnamment bien passé de la main au pinceau et sur la toile. J'aime aussi particulièrement l'odeur de la peinture à l'huile fraîche. J'utilise des peintures à l'huile miscibles à l'eau, ce qui présente l'avantage de ne pas avoir besoin d'ajouter de la térébenthine ou de l'eau. Les outils sont simplement nettoyés avec du savon et de l'eau et je dilue vraiment les couleurs avec de l'eau.

Ich habe heute meine Skizze "#4126 Waldesrumgerummel" vom November letzten Jahres als Basis für ein neues größeres Format gewählt. Kurzentschlossen habe ich die Ölfarben ausgepackt und erst einmal die graue Acryl-Grundierung  mit ein paar schwarzen Strichen für die Grundkonzeption versehen.

Today I selected my sketch  "#4126 Waldesrumgerummel"  from November last year as the basis for a new larger format. Without further ado I have unpacked the oil paints and first of all primed with gray acrylic and then with a few black strokes in oil painting for the basic concept.

Aujourd'hui, j'ai choisi mon croquis  "#4126 Waldesrumgerummel"  de novembre dernier comme base pour un nouveau grand format. Sans plus attendre, j'ai déballé les peintures à l'huile et les ai d'abord apprêtées avec de la peinture acrylique grise, puis avec quelques traits noirs à l'huile pour le concept de base.

Die Variante auf dunklerem grauen Papier wirkt im Vergleich zum gestrigen Blau eher langweilig.

Nach vielen vielen Jahren Abstinenz habe ich mit den Mittwochssketchys eine "Radier-Session" gemacht. Eines der Motive war dieses Porträt von Mr. Raven. Also ist dieser Druck (mangels eigener Druckpresse) eine absolute Rarität. Momentan gibt es nur diese 2 unterschiedlichen Drucke. Welcher gefällt euch besser?

Da nur "trockene" Zeichenmedien im Museum erlaubt sind, habe ich mit dem Brush Pen und einem verwischenden Medium gearbeitet - okay das war ein Wasserpinsel, aber der gibt (gewusst wie) nicht mehr Feuchtigkeit ab als ein Filzstift. Alles safe, Alter!

Since only "dry" drawing mediums are allowed in the museum, I worked with the Brush Pen and a smudging medium - okay that was a water brush, but it doesn't (know how) give off any more moisture than a felt tip pen. All safe, dude!

Comme seuls les médiums de dessin "secs" sont autorisés dans le musée, j'ai travaillé avec le Brush Pen et un médium smudging - ok c'était un pinceau à eau, mais il ne donne (sait comment) pas plus d'humidité qu'un stylo à feutres. Tout est sûr, mec !

Nachdem ich die Komposition neu gestaltet hatte, wurde das Bild immer kompakter und dunkler. So hat sich letztlich eine abendliche Szene ergeben. Die Geschäfte schließen gleich, es regnet ein wenig und die Straße reflektiert das Licht. Ich habe mich bewusst entschieden, die Reflektionen nicht zu stark und effekthascherisch zu machen. Auch ist mir der Detailgrad nun ausreichend groß, dass sich der Betrachter (und die -innen und -außen) den Rest in der Fantasie ergänzen kann. 

After I reshaped the composition, the picture became more compact and darker. Thus, in the end, an evening scene has emerged. The stores are about to close- It's raining. The street reflects the light. I made a conscious decision not to make the reflections too strong and gimmicky. For me the level of detail is now sufficiently so that the viewer can complete the rest in her or his imagination. 

Après avoir réajusté la composition, l'image est devenue plus compacte et plus sombre. Ainsi, au final, une scène de soirée est apparue. Les magasins sont sur le point de fermer. Il pleut. La rue reflète la lumière. J'ai pris la décision consciente de ne pas rendre les reflets trop forts et gadgets. Pour moi, le niveau de détail est maintenant suffisant pour que le spectateur puisse compléter le reste dans son imagination.
