Das Porträt des Schauspielers Ron Perlman sah anfangs immer noch wie unser Gastgeber des Wien-Nützwochenendes (Stefan Nützel) aus. Am Ende kippte es zu Gunsten Rons.
At the beginning, the protrait of the actor Ron Perlman still looked like our host of the Vienna Benefit Weekend (Stefan Nützel). In the end it tipped in Ron's favor.
Au début, l'acteur Ron Perlman ressemblait encore à notre hôte du Vienna Benefit Weekend (Stefan Nützel). A la fin, cela a basculé en faveur de Ron.

Das Zwillingsgebäude zum Kunsthistorischen Museum ist das Naturhistorische Museum. Das Ensemble gehört zu den bedeutendsten historistischen Großgebäuden der Ringstraßenzeit.
The twin building to the Art History Museum is the Nature History Museum. The ensemble is one of the most important large historicist buildings of the Ringstrasse era.
Le bâtiment jumeau du musée d'histoire de l'art est le musée d'histoire. L’ensemble fait partie des grands bâtiments historicistes les plus importants de l'époque du Ringstrasse.

Today was the first day of “free painting” with the Nützwoch group in Vienna. My topic was to create a monochrome cityscape in watercolor plus gouache.
Aujourd’hui était le premier jour de « peinture libre » avec le groupe Nützwoch à Vienne. Mon thème était de créer un paysage urbain monochrome en aquarelle plus gouache.

Seit Dienstag bin ich zum Malerfreund/innentreffen in der schönen Stadt Wien. Die Wetterkapriolen und Überschwemmungen der letzten Tage sind hier vorbei und die Sonne scheint großzügig.
I've been in the beautiful city of Vienna since Tuesday for the painter friends' meeting. The capricious weather and floods of the last few days are over and the sun is shining generously.
Je suis dans la belle ville de Vienne depuis mardi pour la réunion des amis peintres. Le temps capricieux et les inondations de ces derniers jours sont terminés et le soleil brille généreusement.

Am Augustplatz lebt noch die alte Architektur vergangener Zeiten - an der Oper wurde das Urban Sketcher Gruppenbild gemacht. Abends skizzierte ich dann das Panorama in der untergehenden Sonne.
The old architecture of bygone times still lives on at Augustplatz - the Urban Sketcher group picture was taken at the opera house. In the evening, I sketched the panorama in the setting sun.
L'ancienne architecture des temps anciens vit encore sur l'Augustplatz - la photo de groupe Urban Sketcher a été prise à l'opéra. Le soir, j'ai dessiné le panorama au soleil couchant.

There is also a Starbucks in Leipzig's huge main station. The former waiting hall (which it still is now) has the old chandeliers and charm of yesteryear.
Il y a aussi un Starbucks dans l'immense gare centrale de Leipzig. L'ancien hall d'attente (qu'il est toujours aujourd'hui) a les anciens chandeliers et le charme de l'année dernière.

Always sketching from Leipzig my dear - when you do nothing but “Sketch.Eat.Sleep.Repeat” all day long, it's no wonder.
Toujours des croquis de Leipzig mes chers - quand on ne fait rien d'autre que « Sketch.Eat.Sleep.Repeat » toute la journée, ce n'est pas étonnant.

There was a flea market in the courtyard on the delicatessen grounds in Leipzig. Meanwhile, I was drawing in the smoke for the Thuringian sausages (also vegan).
Il y avait un marché aux puces dans la cour sur le site de delicatessen à Leipzig. Entre-temps, je dessinais dans la fumée pour les saucisses de Thuringe (également végétaliennes).

Direkt an der Nikolaikirche ist das schöne Café Kandler. Leckere Eistorte (wo jibbet dat noch?) und schattige Plätzchen.
The lovely Café Kandler is right next to the Nikolaikirche. Delicious ice cream cake (where else do you get that?) and shady spots.
Le charmant Café Kandler se trouve juste à côté de l'église Nikolaikirche. De délicieux gâteaux à la crème glacée (où peut-on en trouver ailleurs ?) et des coins ombragés.

Auch noch in Leipzig: Den Zoo habe ich beim Sketchwalk am Samstagnachmittag nur von außen gesehen und gezeichnet. Wie man sieht bei Superwetter und bester Sketchinglaune.
Still in Leipzig: I sketched the zoo from the outside during the sketch walk on Saturday afternoon. As you can see, the weather was great and I was in a great sketching mood.
Toujours à Leipzig : j'ai dessiné le zoo de l'extérieur lors de la promenade croquis du samedi après-midi. Comme vous pouvez le constater, il faisait beau et j'étais d'excellente humeur pour dessiner.

Die VEB Feinkost war lange Zeit eine Bierbrauerei. Das Kabarett "Litfaßsäule" tat hier seinen Dienst. Nach Machtergreifung der Nazis 1933 wurde die Konservenherstellung weitergeführt. Es gab hier Zwangsarbeit und diente als "Ausländer-Lager". Nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg diente das Gelände wieder als Konservenfabrik und die VEB Feinkost florierte. Nach der Wende wurde der Betrieb aufgelöst und Kreative ließen sich nieder und übernahmen das Gelände in Selbstverwaltung und mit viel Eigeninitiative.
VEB Feinkost was a beer brewery for a long time. The “Litfaßsäule” cabaret did its business here. After the Nazis came to power in 1933, canning continued. There was forced labor here and it served as a “foreigners' camp”. After the Second World War, the site was once again used as a canning factory and VEB Feinkost flourished. After reunification, the factory was closed down and creative people settled down and took over the site under their own management and with a lot of initiative.
Le VEB Feinkost a longtemps été une brasserie de bière. Le cabaret « Litfaßsäule » y officiait. Après l'arrivée des nazis au pouvoir en 1933, la fabrication de conserves a continué. Il y avait ici du travail forcé et servait de « camp pour étrangers ». Après la Seconde Guerre mondiale, le site a de nouveau servi de conserverie et la VEB Feinkost a prospéré. Après la chute du mur, l'entreprise a été dissoute et des créatifs se sont installés et ont repris le site en autogestion et avec beaucoup d'initiatives personnelles.

Das Eckhaus mit den Elefantenköpfen war am Sketcherwochenende überaus beliebt. Und das aus gutem Grund!
The corner house with the elephant heads was extremely popular at the sketch weekend. And for good reason!
La maison d'angle avec les têtes d'éléphant a été extrêmement populaire lors du week-end des sketches. Et pour cause !

“Counter shot” to yesterday's drawing position. On the left, the “palm tree” - i.e. the external model of a column, which also stands as a pilaster in the church.
« Contre-coup » de la position de dessin d'hier. A gauche, le « palmier » - c'est-à-dire le modèle extérieur d'une colonne, qui se dresse également comme pilastre dans l'église.

Zill's Tunnel at Barfußgässchen 9 in the heart of Leipzig - we weren't inside, but it looked nice from the outside. And it's been there since 1841.

Im Hauptbahnhof von Leipzig auf Gleis 24 stehen historische Dampf-Loks und alte Züge. Diese waren heute eines der vielfältigen Motive für die vielen Urban Sketchers aus ganz Deutschland - und für mich.
Historic steam locomotives and old trains are parked on track 24 at Leipzig's main station. Today, these were one of the many motifs for the many urban sketchers from all over Germany - and for me.
Des locomotives à vapeur historiques et des trains anciens sont garés sur la voie 24 de la gare principale de Leipzig. Aujourd'hui, ils ont été l'un des nombreux motifs pour les nombreux dessinateurs urbains venus de toute l'Allemagne - et pour moi.

Endlich sitzen wir im Zug nach Leipzig und lassen die Landschaft an uns vorbeiziehen. Wir treffen (natürlich!) bereits in Hannover im Abteil sehr nette Sketcherinnen aus Osnabrück. Zum Treffen werden mehrere Hundert Sketchers aus ganz Deutschland erwartet.
Finally, we are on the train to Leipzig and let the landscape pass us by. We meet (of course!) very nice sketchers from Osnabrück in the compartment in Hanover. Several hundred sketchers from all over Germany are expected to attend the meeting.
Finalement, nous sommes dans le train pour Leipzig et laissons passer le paysage. Nous rencontrons (bien sûr !) de très beaux sketchers d'Osnabrück dans le compartiment de Hanover. Plusieurs centaines de sketchers de toute l'Allemagne sont attendus à la réunion.
