Seit Montag bis Donnerstag gebe ich einen Urban Sketching After Work Kurs in Hannover. Heute waren wir in Hannover Linden unterwegs.

Since Monday to Thursday I am teaching an Urban Sketching After Work course in Hannover. Today we were out and about in Hannover Linden.

Depuis lundi et jusqu'à jeudi, je donne un cours d'Urban Sketching After Work à Hanovre. Aujourd'hui, nous nous sommes promenés dans Hannover Linden.

In Hannover gibt es zwei alte Lokschuppen, die man leider nicht besuchen kann und daher nur von außen sehen kann. Der Nieselregen gestern erlaubte nur eine schnelle Skizze.

In Hanover there are two old locomotive sheds, which unfortunately can not be visited and therefore can only be seen from the outside. The drizzle yesterday allowed only a quick sketch.

À Hanovre, il y a deux vieux hangars à locomotives, qui ne peuvent malheureusement pas être visités et ne peuvent donc être vus que de l'extérieur. La bruine d'hier n'a permis qu'une rapide esquisse.

Beim gestrigen Sketchertreffen im Bildungsverein habe ich die schöne Ausstellung von Burkhard Simon gesehen und danach aus dem Treppenhaus heraus die Hinterhöfe skizziert.

At yesterday's sketchers' meeting at the Bildungsverein, I saw Burkhard Simon's beautiful exhibition and then sketched the backyards from the stairwell.

Lors de la rencontre de sketches d'hier au Bildungsverein, j'ai vu la belle exposition de Burkhard Simon et j'ai ensuite esquissé les arrière-cours depuis la cage d'escalier.

Die Kanäle Venedigs bilden das Hauptverkehrssytem der Lagunenstadt und erschließen die Stadt. Policia, Ambulancias, Hänler, Müllabfuhr bis hin zum Bestattungsboot können viele Häuser nur über die Kanäle erreicht werden.

The canals of Venice are the main transport system of the lagoon city and open up the city. Policia, ambulancias, hangers, garbage collection up to the funeral boat – many houses can be reached only through the canals.

Les canaux de Venise sont le principal système de transport de la ville lacustre et ouvrent la ville. Policia, ambulancias, hangers, collecte des déchets jusqu'au bateau funéraire - de nombreuses maisons ne peuvent être atteintes qu'en passant par les canaux.

Dem "allwissenden" Internet nennt sich das Motiv "Dean Village". Das bedeutet "Dorf im tiefen Tal". Am Fluss gab es früher viele Wassermühlen.

To the "all-knowing" Internet, the motif is called "Dean Village". This means "village in the deep valley". There used to be many water mills along the river.

Pour l'Internet "omniscient", le motif s'appelle "Dean Village". Cela signifie "village dans la vallée profonde". Il y avait autrefois de nombreux moulins à eau le long de la rivière.

Wieso nennt man einen Ort "Untere Schlachtungs-Wassermühle"? Scheinbar liebt man in den Cotswolds solche blumigen (blutigen?) Beschreibungen. Aber das kennen wir ja auch aus den Inspector Barnaby Krimis.

Why do they call a place "Lower Slaughter Water Mill"? Apparently they love such flowery (bloody?) descriptions in the Cotswolds. But then, we know that from the Midsummer Mysteries with Inspector Barnaby.

Pourquoi appellent-ils un lieu "Moulin à eau d'abattage inférieur" ? Apparemment, ils aiment ces descriptions fleuries (sanglantes ?) dans les Cotswolds. Mais nous connaissons cela aussi dans les romans policiers de l'inspecteur Barnaby.

Das vorgestrige Motiv schrie noch nach Farbe und so habe ich es noch einmal skizziert. Ehrlich gesagt gefällt mir die S/W Version besser. Und ihr so?

The previous day's motif still cried out for color and so I sketched it again. To be honest, I like the B/W version better. What about you?

Le motif d'avant-hier réclamait encore de la couleur et je l'ai donc esquissé à nouveau. Honnêtement, je préfère la version en noir et blanc. Et vous?

Das Haus erinnert mich an das Gebäude bei Monty Pythons »Accountancy Shanty«. Hierin werden ältere Büroangestellte zu Piraten und nehmen den Kampf gegen das Finanzwesen auf. 

The house reminds me of the building in Monty Python's "Accountancy Shanty". Here, older office workers become pirates and take up the fight against the financial system.

La maison me rappelle le bâtiment du film "Accountancy Shanty" des Monty Python. Ici, des employés de bureau âgés deviennent des pirates et luttent contre le système financier.

Today I spotted this motif from the WorldWideWeb. Among other things, it shows a view of the landmark and the medina. Beautiful for drawing.

Aujourd'hui, j'ai remarqué ce motif sur le WorldWideWeb. Entre autres choses, il montre une vue du monument et de la médina. Magnifique pour dessiner.
