Gestern bei boesner bei der Vorführung ergab es sich dann noch, dass ich am Schluss unser schönes Hannoveraner Neue Rathaus ge-acryl-sketcht habe. Mal-Zeit eine halbe Stunde.

Yesterday at boesner's demonstration it turned out that at the end I had acrylic-sketched our beautiful Hanover New Town Hall. Painting time half an hour.

Vielleicht geht es ja auch noch dieses Jahr mal wieder nach Lissabon. Die Motive hier sind jedenfalls alle sehr "authentisch", was ja mal wieder voll im Trend liegt.

Maybe we'll go to Lisbon again this year. Anyway the motifs here are all very "authentic", which is very trendy once again.

Am Mittwoch beim Skizzieren in der Bibliothek entstanden. Aus solchen reduzierten s/w Skizzen entstehen oft die besten Bilder.

At the very least, if the picture is already b/w, the title should be colorful.

Made on Wednesday while sketching in the library. Such reduced b/w sketches often produce the best paintings.

Eine Straßenszene Lissabons mit der legendären Linie 28. Aus Testgründen habe ich diesmal auf Aquarellpapier gearbeitet. Hierauf wird das Licht stärker absorbiert und das Gesamtergebnis erscheint dunkler, als auf Acrylmalpapier. Achtung - wirklich sehr viel dunkler.

A street scene in Lisbon with the legendary Line 28, this time on watercolour paper for testing purposes. Here all colours are more strongly absorbed and the overall result becomes darker, than on acrylic painting paper. Watch out - really darker!

Ich habe auch dieses Bild erst blau untermalt und dann mit Leben gefüllt.

Den Himmel habe ich dann letztlich als "unbemalte" Fläche belassen.

Der wolkige Effekt ist also zufällig passend.

I also made this painting first blue and then filled it with life.

In the end I kept the sky as an "unpainted" surface.

So the cloudy effect is randomly appropriate.

Ich habe mich für das Weitermachen mit den Straßenansichten entschieden. Statt allerdings mit einer orangen Fläche zu beginnen (warmer Farbton) wollte ich nun mal sehen, wie das mit einem kalten Ultramarin-Farbton als Basis aussieht.

Das war jetzt wirklich Zufall, als ich erst später auf dem Foto sah, dass der Peugeot wirklich auch Orange war. Aber es passte.

That was a real coincidence when I saw later on the photo that the Peugeot was really orange. But it was a perfect match.
