2562 Comic Girl

Ausnahmsweise habe ich einmal "schwarz" als Farbe benutzt. Und zwar Kalligrafietusche von Rohrer und Klinger für die Untermalung - mit dem Pinsel gezeichnet. Das Ergebnis (Zufall?) ist ein Comicartiger Look. Auch schön und mal ganz anders.

As an exception, I used" black" as a color on this occasion. Calligraphy ink from Rohrer and Klinger for the underpainting (drawing with a small brush). The result (coincidence?) is a comic-like look. Also nice and quite different.

Samstag war ich im schönen Osnabrück, um dort bei boesner meine Generalprobe zu geben. Denn nächstes Wochenende steht das Deutschlandtreffen der Urban Sketcher in Hamburg auf dem Programm. Habe schon emsig Lampenfieber, wenn es dort »Quick and Dirty (reloaded)« heißt. Dieser Workshop wird dann draußen vor Ort am Oberhafen in Hamburg stattfinden.

Saturday I spent some time in the beautiful town of Osnabrück to give my class at boesner. Next weekend the German meeting of the Urban Sketchers in Hamburg is on my agenda. I already have stage fright when it comes to »Quick and Dirty (reloaded)«. This workshop will take place outside at the Upper Harbour of Hamburg.

An der Straßenbahnhaltestelle übern Mittellandkanal führt diese Brücke. Netter Blick auf Kaffeebecher, Telefondingens (Zellen sind das ja nicht mehr) Klohäuschen, Stromkästen, Oberleitungen, Bäume Lampen, Ampeln und vielem mehr.

Noltemeyer Bridge

This bridge leads over the Middle-Land-Canal at the tram stop . Nice view on coffee cups, phone-thingys (cells aren't anymore) toilets, power boxes, overhead lines, trees, lamps, traffic lights and much more.

Ihr kennt vielleicht da Pareto-Prinzip? Es besagt in etwa, dass man in 20% der Zeit 80% der Arbeit gemacht hat. Der Rest zieht sich dann oft nur hin und ist "Schnickschnack" und Prokrastination. Wie fast immer, habe ich alle 3 Bilder parallel gemalt. Die drei s/w Untermalungen habe ich in so etwa 20% der gesamten Zeit fertig gehabt. Das hätte fast schon gereicht. Ich bin halt ein ungeduldiger Maler. Danach dann noch eine ganze Weile die Farben gesetzt. Wenn die Tonwerte der einfarbigen Untermalung "stimmen", kann man es also nur noch verschlechtern (haha).

You may know the Pareto principle? It says that in 20% time 80% work is done. The rest often just drags on and is "bells and whistles" and procrastination. As almost always, I made all 3 paintings in parallel. I finished the three b/w backgrounds in about 20% of the total time. That almost does it. Sorry, I'm just an impatient painter. Then the colors are set in for quite a while. Notice: If the values of your monochrome background are "right", it can only f*ck up get worse (haha).

Das könnte man nun noch detailreicher machen, aber eigentlich versuche ich gerade dies NICHT zu tun, um (m)einen schnellen Weg zu finden nur das Wesentliche wiederzugeben.

Im Zoo war der Tiger schon sehr aktiv und tigerte in seinem schönen Gehege herum (was sonst?). Leider war er so aktiv, dass man keine ordentliche Pose einfangen konnte. darum habe ich vor Ort nur das Umfeld gemalt und den Tiger kurzerhand zuhause vom Foto reingesetzt.

The tiger was very active in the zoo and tigered around in his beautiful area. Unfortunately it was so active that you could not catch a neat pose. Therefore I have painted only the environment on site and put in the tiger from the photo later at home.
