Nach dem ersten Kurstag ging es abends noch nach Trendelburg ins Café, wo zum Fête de la Musique ein "Sänger/innentreffen" stattfand. Unterbrochen von mehreren Regenschauern schaffte ich die Vorskizze.

After the first day of the course, we headed for the Trendelburg café in the evening, where a "singers' meeting" was taking place on the occasion of the Fête de la Musique. Interspersed with several showers, I managed to make the preliminary sketch.

Après le premier jour de cours, nous nous sommes rendus le soir au café de Trendelburg, où une "rencontre de chanteurs" avait lieu à l'occasion de la Fête de la Musique. Entrecoupée de plusieurs averses, j'ai réussi à faire l'esquisse préliminaire.

Morgen geht es los mit dem Sketching Kurs rund um die Burg Herstelle. Die Stadt Höxter gehört mit zu den Orten, die wir besuchen werden.

The sketching course around Herstelle Castle starts tomorrow. The town of Höxter is one of the places we will visit.

Mit den Mittwochssketchys skizzieren wir gerade Kioske in Hannover. Dieser steht am Maschsee Nordufer. 

We are currently sketching kiosks in Hanover with the Wednesday Sketchers. This one is on the north bank of the Maschsee.

Kommendes Wochenende ist es wieder soweit: Meine Skizzen Tour rund um die Burg Herstelle jährt sich erneut. Diesmal werden drei Städte besucht und skizziert.

It's that time of year again next weekend: my sketching tour around Herstelle Castle. This time I'll be visiting and sketching three different villages.

Im Provenceurlaub war ich auch in Arles und habe diesen schönen Eis-Kiosk am Straßenrand entdeckt. 

During my vacation in Provence, I was also in Arles and discovered this beautiful ice-cream kiosk by the roadside. 

Pendant mes vacances en Provence, j'étais aussi à Arles et j'ai découvert ce beau kiosque à glaces au bord de la route.

Der kleine See in unserer Nachbarschaft bietet die am nächsten gelegene Möglichkeit, ein bisschen Strand zu sehen. Der Kiosk bietet Fritten, Wurst, Hausmannskost, Kaffee und Kuchen. Direkt daneben ist die Baywatch-Zentrale vom DLRG.

The small lake in our neighborhood offers the closest opportunity to see a bit of a beach. The kiosk offers chips, sausages, home cooking, coffee and cake. The Baywatch center is right next door.

Le petit lac dans le quartier offre la possibilité la plus proche de voir un peu de plage. Le kiosque propose des chips, des saucisses, de la cuisine maison, du café et des gâteaux. Le centre Baywatch se trouve juste à côté.

Lourmarin ist eines der schönsten Dörfer Frankreichs. Die Menschenmassen sind im Mai noch überschaubar. Wie mag es sort wohl erst im Sommer wimmeln?

Lourmarin is one of the most beautiful villages in France. The crowds are still manageable in May. What might it be like in summer?

Es war einmal im Mai ... einer der letzten Orte, die wir im Urlaub besuchten war Seguret mit seinem formidablen Restaurant "Le Mesclun". Vor dem Essen entstand diese Skizze.

Once upon a time in May ... one of the last places we visited on vacation was Seguret with its formidable restaurant “Le Mesclun”. This sketch was made before dinner.

Ein zweites Bild entstand am Mittwochabend, Wer findet den kleinen lustigen Hinweis, warum der Flaschensammler so selig dreinschaut?

A second illustration was taken on Wednesday evening. Who will find the amusing little clue as to why the bottle collector looks so smug? 

Une deuxième illustration a été prise mercredi soir. Qui trouvera le petit indice amusant qui explique pourquoi le ramasseur de bouteilles a l'air si béat 

Auflösung:

Bettler, Flaschensammler oder verwahrlost aussehende Menschen werden oft rüde angepöbelt, sich zu verpissen. Dieser hat es wahrscheinlich wörtlich genommen und ganz königlich an die Litfasssäule gepinkelt.

Beggars, bottle collectors or neglected-looking people are often rudely shouted at to piss off. This one probably took it literally and peed quite royally on the advertising pillar.

Les bégueules, les collectionneurs de bouteilles ou les personnes à l'air négligé se font souvent grossièrement réprimander pour pisser. Celui-ci l'a probablement fait littéralement et a pissé royalement sur le panneau publicitaire.

Auxerre hat ein schönes altes Postgebäude, welches 1909 gebaut wurde und besonders schöne Dekore an der Fassade aufweist. Diese werden von professionellen Urban Sketchers grundsätzlich als Rumgekrakel dargestellt.  Oder habe ich etwa die Zeit, das alles fotorealistisch zu zeichnen?

Auxerre has a beautiful old post office building, which was built in 1909 and has particularly beautiful decorations on the façade. These are generally depicted by professional urban sketchers as scribbles.  Or do I have the time to draw it all photo-realistically?

Auxerre a un beau bâtiment de poste ancien, construit en 1909, qui présente des décors particulièrement beaux sur sa façade. Ceux-ci sont en principe représentés par les urban sketchers professionnels comme des gribouillis.  Ou alors j'ai le temps de dessiner tout cela de manière photoréaliste ?

Schön, wenn einem der Zufall ein so schönes Bild schenkt. Denn gerade noch saß ich malend auf der Terrasse, als unvermittelt ein heftiger Regenschauer vom Himmel herunterkam. So musste ich schnell alle Sachen rein ins Trockene bringen. Die Pause war dann ausschlaggebend, nicht mehr an dem Bild weiter rumzumuckeln. Denn ich sah, es war gut. 

Eygalières Castle Hill

It's nice when chance gives you such a beautiful picture. I was just sitting on the terrace painting when suddenly a heavy rain shower came down from the sky. So I had to quickly get all my things into the dry. The break was then the deciding factor to stop messing around. Because I could see it was good.

C'est beau quand le hasard vous offre une si belle image. J'étais assis sur la terrasse en train de peindre quand soudain une forte averse est tombée du ciel. J'ai donc dû rapidement mettre toutes mes affaires au sec. La pause a été le facteur décisif qui m'a permis d'arrêter de tripatouiller la photo. Parce que je voyais que c'était bon.
