Das nennt man dann wohl Mixed Media: Zuerst habe ich mit blauem Aquarellstift die Skizze gemacht. Dann wurden mit oranger Füllhaltertinte einige sehr flüssige Untermalungen angefertigt. Mit dunkler Acrylfarbe setzte ich dann die Treppen und Dunkelheiten. Zum Schluss folgten die hellblauen und weißen Reflexe. 

Fire Staircase 1

I guess that's called mixed media: First I made a blue watercolour pencil sketch. Then some very fluid underpaintings were made with orange fountain pens. Then. with dark acrylic paint I set the stairs and the dark spots. To the end the light blue and white reflections followed.

An einigen Pfählen und Verkehrsschildern hängen sogar 4 Überwachungskameras. Wehe, wer hier falsch abbiegt. Auch hier bei uns gibt es inzwischen schon einige dieser Kameras an neuralgischen Punkten. 

Not less than even four surveillance cameras are installed on some of the posts and traffic signs. Don't make a wrong turn here. Of course, in each bigger village or road crossing you'll find a lot of these cameras at neuralgic points.

Auch heute habe ich mit dieser Ansicht von New York verbracht. 

Kennt ihr das Pareto-Prinzip?
Dessen 80/20-Regel besagt, dass 80% des Ergebnisses in 20% des Gesamtaufwandes erreicht werden. Die verbleibenden 20% machen dann 80% der Zeit aus.
Demnach ist das Bild schon im Jahre 2046 fertig.
Werdet ihr so lange ein bisschen mit mir leiden?

Today I spent ,ore time with this view of New York.

Do you know the Pareto principle?

Am Wochenende habe ich wieder ein etwas größeres Format in Arbeit (50 x 70 cm).

Bin bis zu diesem Schritt gekommen. Mal sehen, ob es heute weitergeht. 

Bin aber heute auch den Tag über beim Oldtimer Schauen und Skizzieren.

Practiced some "simplification" with the Wednesday's Sketchies on Kant Square in Hanover.

Nach dem großen Bild gestern brauchte ich etwas Kleines, das ich auch draußen auf der Terrasse malen kann. Dies habe ich vom iPad gemalt und dafür eine Google™ Streetview Aufnahme verwendet.

Nachdem diese Arbeit ein paar Wochen herumlag, habe ich sie gestern noch einmal nachbearbeitet und lasse es nun so. Aquarell muss halt auch regelmäßig weiter geübt werden, damit man es nicht verlernt. Das Bild zeigt einen Straßenzug mit Blick auf das Chrysler Building in NYC.

After this work was lying around for a few weeks, I have reworked it yesterday. I leave it this way. Watercolor must be practiced regularly... The painting shows one block overlooking the Chrysler Building in NYC.
