1563 Holmes' Violine

Dieses Gegeige kann einem sicher ganz schön auf den Geist gehen. Jedenfalls, wenn man einigen Sherlock Holmes Storys Glauben schenkt, die ich seit einiger Zeit als Hörbuch während des Malens nebenher höre. Der Meisterdetektiv soll dieses Instrument demnach eher »experimentell« (nicht elementar!) beherrschen. Zudem spielt er meist des Nachts.

Holmes' Violin

Violin playing can often be annoying. Anyway, some Sherlock Holmes stories I'm hearing while painting make me believe that the master detective is performing his instrument in a more or less "experimental" (not elementary) way. In addition, he mostly plays at night.

Früher lief die Serie *M*A*S*H* beinah täglich über den Äther. Hawkeye Pierce war der Lazarettarzt des Mobile Army Surgery Hospitals. Dieses Hawkeye begegnete mir allerdings in Dänemark im Chorgestühl des Doms zu Ribe.

The TV series *M*A*S*H* was one of my favorites "when I was young" and it was broadcasted each and every day. Hawkeye Pierce was the hospital physician of the Mobile Army Surgery Hospital. However, this Hawkeye, I met in the choir stalls of the Cathedral in Ribe / Denmark.

Gestern habe ich für die Kunstfabrik den Malkurs »Stillleben in Acryl« mit Till Warwas fotografiert. Am liebsten hätte ich gleich mitgemalt. Eines der Motive habe ich dann zuhause gemalt (danke für die Vorlage).

Auch konnte man Teile herausreißen und ein Feuer damit nähren. Versucht das bitte nicht mit eurem iPad® oder einem Handy...

Heute habe ich mal wieder getestet, wie es sich anfühlt, mit Acrylfarben auf anderen Untergründen als Leinwand zu malen. Auf Aquarellpapier zum Beispiel geht das auch recht gut. Die Farbe trocknet nur noch rasanter. Automatisch malte ich auch eher »aquarelliger«,

Onion Bowl

Today I have tested once again, what it feels like to paint with acrylics on other surfaces as canvas. E.g. on watercolor paper that works quite well. Omly the paint dries even faster. Autonatically, I painted in a »watercolor-mode«.

Also nicht der Pinsel wurde getestet. Sondern eine andere Maltechnik mit Spachtel und Farbspritzern. Dachte eigentlich, es wäre passend, um einen Pinsel zu malen. Mmh - aber mir gefällt es jetzt nicht so dolle. 

Brush Test

Not the brush has been tested. But yet another technique with palette knife and splashed paint. Actually I thought it would be fitting to paint a brush. Uhm, but I don't like it that much.

Und werden für Anti-Schuppen-Schampoos kleine Holzhütten geopfert?

When thinking about this title, a hair shampoo from my childhood days came in my mind. Are true green apples losing their lives for this stuff?

And what about anti dandruff shampoo?

What the heck does this word come from?

»Die alte Pumpe«, stöhnt so mancher bei den Wetterwechseln hierzulande.
Hier ist aber eine alte französische Benzinpumpe gemeint.

»The old pump« some are grunting, considering the permanent weather changes in Germany. But here an old French petrol pump is meant.
