Auf wikipedia habe ich gerade erfahren, dass die Eiche zu den buchenartigen Bäumen gehört. Das klingt nicht unbedingt logisch. Viel logischer hingegen ist es, dass in Südfrankreich die Blätter länger grün bleiben und somit noch kein Orange im Bild vorkommt. Und auch keine Orangen. Obwohl es die auch in Südfrankreich gibt. 
Aber nicht an Eichen.

On wikipedia I just have learned that the oak belongs to the family of beeches. That does not sound too logical in my ears. However, it is much more logical that most leaves are still green in the South of France and therefore my painting does not contain any orange leaves. And of course no oranges. Although there happen to be lots of oranges in the south of France. 
But not on oaks.

Wenn man soviel rumreist und rummalt, wie ich, treibt im Garten das Wildkraut reichlich aus. Warum nur können die blöden Schnecken sich nicht von Brennnesseln und Unkraut ernähren? Sie fressen natürlich immer nur die schönsten Knospen, Blüten und Blätter. Grrr. Und auch die Bierfalle wirkt nicht. Liegt's an der Marke?

Nettles
Cause I traveled and painted so much the last days, there's plenty of weed plenty in the garden. And why don't these damned snugs just eat nettles and ugly plants? No, they are gourmets and only devour the finest buds, flowers and leaves. Grrr. And the beer trap doesn't work either. Maybe t's the wrong brand of beer?

Auch dieses Bild habe ich bei Carol Marine im Schwarzwald begonnen. 

Leider war das Bild ein kompletter Reinfall. Ich habe es dann gestern im Atelier noch einmal überarbeitet. Nun bin ich ganz zufrieden damit. Ich muss mir nun aber unbedingt auch so einen »Plein Air Schirm« besorgen, sonst malt man in der prallen Sonne immer viel zu dunkel. Liegt wohl daran, dass sich die Pupillen in der Sonne natürlich stark verkleinern und man dann »falsche« Farbwerte und Helligkeiten sieht.

...Einige Blog-Abonennten bekommen wegen eines organisatorischen Fehlers evtl. noch einmal das gestrige Bild zugeschickt- ich kann das leider nicht beeinflussen...

In the Bush 

I started this picture when I was painting with Carol Marine in the Black Forest. 

Unfortunately, the painting was a total pratfall. I then repainted it yesterday in my studio in Hanover. Now I'm quite happy with it. I now desperately need a »Plein Air Umbrella«!

Cause, if you are painting in the blazing sun, in most cases you will paint way too dark.

That's an effect of the pupillary light reflex which prodces »wrong« color values.

Auch wenn die Klostergärten nicht zugänglich waren, habe ich doch genug Natur drumherum gefunden, an der ich meine Plein Air Malausstattung im Felde anwenden durfte. Das Feld war am Anfang am schwersten zu realisieren, gefällt mir dafür jetzt am besten.

Field Trial

Although the gardens of the monastery were not available, I have found more than enough nature around it. Here I could apply my plein air stuff in the field. The field was the most difficult to realize in the beginning. Therefore I like it best now.

Windsleeves in disbelief

​Soon Germany will be crowded again with three colored flags (black-red-gold). 

You know, soccer world cup and so... On the Aegi Square in Hanover it's only the harmless and nice windsleeves. They are standing in a beautiful grassy landscape of an former art event, providing the view to the theater.

In the Garden 

Yesterday I spent a nice and not too strenuous day in my garden. 

In between I took an extended walk through my neighborhood to the election office.

Surprisingly, I have discovered some new corners and paths.

Dass die britischen Monarchen (Welfen) vor 300 Jahren aus Hannover kamen und in Personalunion auch das Kurfürstentum Hannover beherrschten, wird hier in Hannover gerade groß mit viel Pomp, teuren Ausstellungen und Festen gefeiert. 

Warum eigentlich? Sind doch alle tot ;-)

Aber der Georgengarten, seinerzeit als englischer Landschaftsgarten angelegt, ist sehr malerisch und immer noch sehr voller Leben.

George Garden Sketches 

The fact that, 300 years ago, the British monarchs (Guelphs) came from Hanover and ruled in personal union also the electorate of Hanover, is celebrated here with great pomp and expensive exhibitions and festivals. Why that? They're all dead and gone ;-)

But the George garden is laid out as an English landscape garden and still very nice and alive.
