Ist nicht nur eine liebevoll respekterweisende Ansprache an eine nicht immer im Rahmen des Erlaubten oder Sittsamen agierende Person. Der Begriff beschreibt auch, wonach es bestialisch zu stinken begann, als sich ein Köter ein paar Meter neben mir begann zu wälzen, natürlich genau da, wo ich dieses Bild en plein air malte. 

»Sau-Aas« literally is a mixture of the German word for "wild boar" in combination with "carrion". Not only is this a lovingly and respectful address to a person who's not always modest or political correct (but, man, he's cool!). 

The term also describes, how it started to stink bestially when a dog began to roll on the forest soil a few feet next to me.

Durch das unverhofft sonnige Herbstwetter gestern konnte ich gar nicht anders, als rauszugehen und draußen zu malen. 

That's the name of the huge beautiful inner city forest just around the corner. 

So, due to the unexpectedly sunny autumn weather yesterday I could not help and was out and about painting outdoors.

Am Wochenende haben wir in einem netten Landgut in Waldnähe gewohnt und einen schönen Spaziergang dort genossen. Zum Skizzieren war leider nicht viel Zeit. Diese Motive habe ich jedoch gestern noch geschafft.

On the weekend we stayed in a nice estate nearby a forest and enjoyed a nice walk there. There was not much time left for sketching. But I managed to sketch some small occurencies.

Ein nettes Wald-Ausflugscafé im Harz bei Braunlage. 

Hier haben wir den hausgemachten Abschiedskäsekuchen genossen. Ich habe die Teilnehmer(innen) ganz gut getroffen, wenn auch nicht vollzählig. Blaue Jacken waren keine Pflicht, sondern sind künstlerische Freiheit.

A nice getaway cafe in Harzywood. 

Here we enjoyed eting the home made farewell cheesecake. I guess, I've captured some of the participants pretty well. Notice that blue jackets were not required. Sort of freedom of artistic impression.

Am Rand des Waldes mit Blick aufs Meer. War hier ein Campingplatz? War das Schweden? Ich weiß es nicht mehr. Die Erinnerung trügt oft. Habe aber den Geburtstag wenigstens nicht vergessen.

At the edge of the forest, overlooking the sea. Was here a campsite? Was it in Sweden? I don't remember. Memory often is deceptive. But I didn't forget the birthday at least.

Crosslauf

Momentan bin ich ja zugegebenermaßen eher faul, was Waldlaufen angeht. Aber wenn's wärmer wird, soll es auch wieder ab in die Pampa gehen. Dabei sind oft auch Hindernisse zu überwinden.

Currently I am a lazy homebody. But as soon as it gets warmer, I will restart my hopeless jogging career back in the boonies.
