Gestern fand das monatliche Skizzentreffen der Urban Sketchers Hannover am Hauptbahnhof statt. Mit über 35 Teilnehmern war es das bisher beteiligungsstärkste Treffen seit Bestehen der Gruppe. Das nächste Treffen findet übrigens am 10. Dezember 2017 ab 11 Uhr auf dem Weihnachtsmarkt statt.

Sketching the Station

Yesterday, our monthly sketch meeting of the Urban Sketchers Hannover took place at the main station. With more than 35 participants, it was the most significant meeting since the group's existence. The next meeting will be Dec.  10, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Christmas market.

Die Markthalle in Hannover hat letzte Woche ihr 125 Jahre Jubiläum gefeiert.

Denkste, es gab wenigstens einen Gratis-Prosecco, Musik oder irgendwas Besonderes? (Jedenfalls war von 17:30 - 20:00 h "business as usual". Schade.

Oder doch: Jedenfalls schenkte der nette Gemüsemann einer Mitsketcherin eine knorrige Kurkumaknolle, weil die Skizze so missraten war (was die Sketcherin aber gar nicht so empfand).

Last week the market hall in Hannover celebrated its 125th anniversary .

At least there was NO free Prosecco, NO music and NOTHING special at all despite some newspaper reports? (Anyway, it was "business as usual" as we dropped in 5:30 pm. Poor performance guys! At least there was the vegetable man, giving one of our sketchers a knotty turmeric tuber. And this only because of her "failed" sketch. In fact none of us thought of her sketch being "failed".

Auch ein wahrhaft schönes Auto ist auch der Lancia Flaminia. Dieser wurde nach der um 220 v. Chr. angelegten Straßenverbindung von Rom an die Adria benannt. Das Auto kam dann erst um 1962 auf die(se) Straße.

Another truly beautiful car is the Lancia Flaminia. This was named after the road connection between Rome and the Adriatic Sea. The street was build 220 BC. The car did not arrived there before 1962.

Yesterday at the demo at boesner. Stayed well on schedule and did almost all planned sketches. Around 70 brave visitors persistantly watched each brush stroke.

Beim Malkurs auf der coolen Burg entstand auch ein, mich an Cézannes Farben erinnerndes, kleines Obststillleben. Und man sieht unten auch, welch' herrliche Früchte das regelmäßige Malen tragen kann.

During the painting workshop on the magic castle, I painted a fruit still life, reminding me of the colors used by Cézanne. And you can also see the splendid fruits that regular painting can bear.
