While sketching, I snuck into Malte Wulf's "urban sketching" class. Drawing was done at the Luther Church. A place, in the very lively northern city of Hannover. I like it!

Genau heute vor 10 Jahren habe ich begonnen jeden Tag (JEDEN TAG!!) ein Bild von mir im Internet auf dieser Webseite zu posten. Begonnen hat das Ganze mit einem Besuch bei meinem Freund Jo, der damals in Toronto lebte. Zurück in Deutschland reifte die Idee, meine Malerei voranzubringen. Seither hat sich mein Leben verändert und ich wurde zum Dailypainter, Aussteller, Workshopleiter, Buchautor und Akademieleiter. Aus den ursprünglich geplanten 100 Tagen wurden bislang 3654 Tage. Das heutige Motiv zeigt einen meiner Lieblingsplätze in Toronto, das Flatiron Building.

Exactly 10 years ago today, I started posting a painting every day (EVERY DAY!!) on the internet on this website. It all started with a visit to my friend Jo, who was living in Toronto at the time. Back in Germany, the idea to move forward with my painting matured. Since then my life has changed and I became a dailypainter, exhibitor, workshop leader, book author and academy leader. So far, the 100 days I originally planned have turned into 3654 days. Today's motif shows one of my favorite places in Toronto, the Flatiron Building.

Il y a exactement 10 ans aujourd'hui, j'ai commencé à poster une peinture chaque jour (TOUS LES JOURS ! !) sur l'internet, sur ce site. Tout a commencé par une visite à mon amie Jo, qui vivait à l'époque à Toronto. De retour en Allemagne, l'idée d'aller de l'avant avec ma peinture a mûri. Depuis, ma vie a changé et je suis devenu un dailypainter, un exposant, un animateur d'atelier, un auteur de livre et un responsable d'académie. Jusqu'à présent, les 100 jours que j'avais initialement prévus se sont transformés en 3654 jours. Le motif d'aujourd'hui montre l'un de mes endroits préférés à Toronto, le Flatiron Building.

Wie war es wohl in Paris während dieser Zeit (ca. 1871 - 1900), in der fast alle der bekanntesten Maler zumindest zeitweise in Paris weilten? Monet, Manet, Van Gogh, Picasso, Delacroix, Pissarro, Degas, Toulouse-Lautrec, Renoir, Morisot, Caillebotte - um nur ein paar zu nennen.

Beim sonntäglichen Sketchtreffen waren wir am Hauptbahnhof. Mein Blick ging von einer Bahnhofplatzecke in Richtung Kaufhof.
