Auxerre hat ein schönes altes Postgebäude, welches 1909 gebaut wurde und besonders schöne Dekore an der Fassade aufweist. Diese werden von professionellen Urban Sketchers grundsätzlich als Rumgekrakel dargestellt.  Oder habe ich etwa die Zeit, das alles fotorealistisch zu zeichnen?

Auxerre has a beautiful old post office building, which was built in 1909 and has particularly beautiful decorations on the façade. These are generally depicted by professional urban sketchers as scribbles.  Or do I have the time to draw it all photo-realistically?

Auxerre a un beau bâtiment de poste ancien, construit en 1909, qui présente des décors particulièrement beaux sur sa façade. Ceux-ci sont en principe représentés par les urban sketchers professionnels comme des gribouillis.  Ou alors j'ai le temps de dessiner tout cela de manière photoréaliste ?

Schön, wenn einem der Zufall ein so schönes Bild schenkt. Denn gerade noch saß ich malend auf der Terrasse, als unvermittelt ein heftiger Regenschauer vom Himmel herunterkam. So musste ich schnell alle Sachen rein ins Trockene bringen. Die Pause war dann ausschlaggebend, nicht mehr an dem Bild weiter rumzumuckeln. Denn ich sah, es war gut.

It's nice when chance gives you such a beautiful picture. I was just sitting on the terrace painting when suddenly a heavy rain shower came down from the sky. So I had to quickly get all my things into the dry. The break was then the deciding factor to stop messing around. Because I could see it was good.

C'est beau quand le hasard vous offre une si belle image. J'étais assis sur la terrasse en train de peindre quand soudain une forte averse est tombée du ciel. J'ai donc dû rapidement mettre toutes mes affaires au sec. La pause a été le facteur décisif qui m'a permis d'arrêter de tripatouiller la photo. Parce que je voyais que c'était bon.

Nach dem Urlaub habe ich gerade die Fotos vom Handy überspielt. Dieses Motiv habe ich dann zufällig ausgewählt, um es heute zu malen.

After my vacation, I just transferred the photos from my cell phone. I then chose this motif at random to paint today.

Après mes vacances, je viens de transférer les photos de mon téléphone portable. J'ai ensuite choisi ce motif au hasard pour le peindre aujourd'hui.

Just returned to our beautiful home. Not the one in the picture from Eygalières, but the one in Hanover. Also beautiful. Both. Vacation and coming home again.

Nous venons de rentrer dans notre belle maison. Enfin, pas celle de l'image d‘Eygalières, mais celle de Hanovre. Belle aussi. Les deux. Les vacances et le retour à la maison.

Im früheren Spar Supermarkt ist nun ein Café mit Einrichtungsladen. Den neuen Platz haben wir gleich zum Skizzieren genutzt.

The former Spar supermarket is now a café with a furniture store. We immediately used the new space for sketching.

Auch dieses Jahr besuchten wir wieder das Café am Platze in Lagnes. Wer jetzt denkt, wir machen andauernd nur Rast, malen und trinken Kaffee, liegt wohl nicht ganz falsch.

We visited the Café of the village in Lagnes again this year. Anyone who thinks we're just going to stop, paint and drink coffee all the time is probably not entirely wrong.

We were out and about with the Urban Sketchers "Entre Alpilles et Luberon" in the beautiful village of Les Taillandes. It's great that there are like-minded people all over the world who network via the Internet and meet up to sketch together.

Nous étions en route avec les Urban Sketchers "Entre Alpilles et Luberon" dans le beau village des Taillandes. As every year, the drawing challenge "Every Day in May" will take place this May. The prompts are given daily. One day it was the prompt "chicken".
