Wir wohnen unweit des Mittellandkanals. Hinter der Schleuse halten oft die Lastkähne z.B.  aus Polen, Holland oder Deutschland, um Station zu machen. 

We live not far from the Mittelland Canal. Behind the lock, barges often stop to make a stopover, e.g. from Poland, Holland or Germany.

Nous habitons non loin du canal Mittelland. Derrière l'écluse, les péniches provenant par exemple de Pologne, des Pays-Bas ou d'Allemagne s'arrêtent souvent pour faire une halte.

Da habe ich mich beim Lettering doch glatt vertan? Es war natürlich der Lindener Hafen, an dem wir schön in der Abendsonne saßen und ihn zeichneten.

Oh dear, I made a mistake with the lettering. Of course, it was Lindener Hafen where we sat in the evening sun and drew it.

Oh là là, je me suis trompé dans l'écriture. Bien sûr, c'était Lindener Hafen où nous nous sommes assis au soleil couchant et l'avons dessiné.

Zufällig führte mich der Weg durch den Stadtteil Hannover Bothfeld. Dort gibt es ein altes Zunfthaus der Vogtländer Zimmerer. Schön anzusehen und zu sketchen.

By chance, my route took me through the Bothfeld district of Hanover. There is an old guild house there belonging to the Vogtland carpenters. It is beautiful to look at and sketch.

Par hasard, mon chemin m'a conduit dans le quartier Bothfeld de Hanovre. On y trouve une ancienne maison de corporation des charpentiers du Vogtland. Elle est agréable à regarder et à dessiner.

Manchmal bleibt ein Werk auf halber Strecke liegen. Oder es verhungert auf halber Strecke, wie wir Profis sagen 🤪. Dann ist es gut, es einfach mal in Ruhe zu lassen und später einen Blick draufzuwerfen. Was meint ihr? Lohnt sich das weiterzumachen? 

Sometimes a project gets left halfway through. Or it dies halfway through, as we professionals say 🤪. Then it's good to just leave it alone for a while and take another look at it later. What do you think? Is it worth continuing?

Parfois, un projet reste en suspens. Ou il meurt à mi-chemin, comme nous le disons entre professionnels 🤪. Dans ce cas, il vaut mieux le laisser de côté et y revenir plus tard. Qu'en pensez-vous ? Cela vaut-il la peine de continuer ?

Letzte Arbeit des Workshops mit Stefan Nuetzel. Ging trotz der Details und einem dicken Pinsel ganz gut von der Hand. Ich überlege, ob ich noch ein paar Details mehr akzuentiere und zB die Schrift auf das Werbebanner setze.

Last piece of work from the workshop with Stefan Nuetzel. It went quite well despite the details and a thick brush. I'm considering whether to accentuate a few more details and, for example, add the lettering to the advertising banner.

Dernier travail de l'atelier avec Stefan Nuetzel. Cela s'est plutôt bien passé malgré les détails et un pinceau épais. Je me demande si je vais accentuer quelques détails supplémentaires et, par exemple, ajouter le lettrage sur la bannière publicitaire.

Einen anderen Ansatz beim Starten des Bildes ergab sich bei diesem Bild. Zuerst einmal viel Farbe drauf, die dann weggewischt wird. Danach die Details nach und nach ergänzen.

A different approach was taken when starting this painting. First, a lot of paint was applied, which was then wiped away. After that, the details were gradually added.

Une approche différente a été adoptée pour commencer cette peinture. Tout d'abord, beaucoup de peinture a été appliquée, puis essuyée. Ensuite, les détails ont été ajoutés petit à petit.

Tag 3 des Workshops bei Stefan Nuetzel in der Kunstfabrik. Hier ein Haus nahe der Hämelschenburg in Öl umgesetzt. Ich weiß noch nicht, ob's so fertig ist. Schaue ich morgen früh nochmal.

Third day of the workshop at Stefan Nuetzel's at the Kunstfabrik. Here is a house near Haemelschenburg Castle painted in oil. I'm not sure yet if it's finished. I'll take another look tomorrow morning.

Troisième jour de l'atelier chez Stefan Nuetzel à la Kunstfabrik. Voici une maison près du château de Hämelschenburg peinte à l'huile. Je ne sais pas encore si elle est terminée. Je la regarderai à nouveau demain matin.

Der Workshop von Stefan Nützel in der Kunstfabrik Hannover begann am Mittwoch. Wie immer beste Stimmung im Kurs und coole Leute dabei. Mein erstes Bild des Tages zeigt eine Dorfszene in Fornalutx / Malllorca.

Stefan Nuetzel's workshop at the Kunstfabrik Hannover began on Wednesday. As always, the atmosphere in the class was great and there were some cool people there. My first painting of the day shows a village scene in Fornalutx, Majorca.

L'atelier de Stefan Nuetzel à la Kunstfabrik Hannover a commencé mercredi. Comme toujours, l'ambiance dans la classe était excellente et il y avait des gens sympas. Ma première peinture de la journée montre une scène de village à Fornalutx, Majorque.

Baker Street ist nicht nur die Straße, in der die Romanfiguren Sherlock Holmes und Dr. Watson lebten, sondern auch der Titel eines coolen Songs von Gerry Rafferty - und natürlich der Name der Bäckerei, in der ich zwischen zweit Terminen eine Sketcherpause machte.

Baker Street is not only the street where the novel characters Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson lived, but also the title of a cool song by Gerry Rafferty - and of course the name of the bakery where I took a sketch break between two appointments.

Baker Street n'est pas seulement la rue où vivaient les personnages des romans Sherlock Holmes et Dr Watson, mais aussi le titre d'une chanson cool de Gerry Rafferty - et bien sûr le nom de la boulangerie où j'ai fait une pause sketch entre deux rendez-vous.

Am Samstag war ich an den Koldinger Seen unterwegs. Manchmal schon mediterranes Flair. Besonders bei dem schönen Wetter.

On Saturday I was out and about at the Koldingen lakes. Sometimes with a Mediterranean flair. Especially with the beautiful weather.

Samedi, j'étais aux abords des lacs de Koldingen. Parfois avec une touche méditerranéenne. Surtout avec le beau temps.
