Ab Sonntag tausche ich die eisige Januarluft gegen die sonnige Mittelmeerbrise ein. Ein Kurztrip führt mich ein paar Tage nach Mallorca. Auf dem Landgut Son Marroig stehen einige schöne alte und knorrige Olivenbäume.

From Sunday, I'm swapping the icy January air for the sunny Mediterranean breeze. A short trip will take me to Majorca for a few days. There are some beautiful old and gnarled olive trees on the Son Marroig estate.

À partir de dimanche, je troque l'air glacial de janvier contre la brise ensoleillée de la Méditerranée. Un petit voyage me conduira à Majorque pour quelques jours. Sur le domaine de Son Marroig, il y a de beaux oliviers anciens et noueux.

Ich sitze in meinem Konfirmations-Cordanzug auf dem coolen Ford Escort meiner Mutter.

Als ich den lütten Schieter (das Auto) hier sah, fiel mir gleich ein, dass wir auch einmal einen Fiat 500 in türkisblau in der Familie hatten. Es gibt sogar noch ein Foto :))

When I saw this little guy here, I immediately remembered that we once had a Fiat 500 in turquoise blue in the family. There's even a photo :))

Dalmatiner waren auch bekannte Filmhunde. Sogar gleich 101 davon. Aus den weichen Welpen wollte Cruella einen schön warmen Pelzmantel klöppeln. Aber die Hunde konnten entkommen. Der Pelzmantel wurde dann bei Woolworth gekauft.

Dalmatians were also famous movie dogs. As many as 101 of them. Cruella wanted to make a nice warm fur coat out of the soft puppies. But the dogs managed to escape. The fur coat was finally bought at Woolworth's.

Les dalmatiens étaient également des chiens de cinéma célèbres. Il y en a eu jusqu'à 101. Cruella voulait faire de ces chiots tout doux un manteau de fourrure bien chaud. Mais les chiens ont réussi à s'échapper. Le manteau a finalement été acheté chez Woolworth.

1919 wurde der Verein für die Reinzucht des langhaarigen, großen, schwarzweißen Münsterländer Vorstehhundes gegründet. OMG. Das hat dieser niedliche Zeitgenosse doch nicht verdient.

The association for the pure breeding of the long-haired, large, black and white Münsterländer pointing dog was founded in 1919. OMG. This cute contemporary didn't deserve that.

L'association pour l'élevage pur du grand chien à poil long, noir et blanc du Münsterland a été fondée en 1919. OMG. Ce mignon contemporain ne méritait pas cela.

Auch wenn es (meines Wissens nach) keinen expliziten Fall in einem verschneiten Bergdorf gibt, in dem Sherlock Holmes ermittelt, so könnte es doch ganz gut zu dem Fall "Silberstern", wo die Spuren eines vermissten Pferdes im Schnee gefunden werden.

Even if there is (in my memory) no explicit case in a snow-covered mountain village where Sherlock Holmes is investigating, it could fit in quite well with the “Silber Blaze” case, where the tracks of a missing horse are found in the snow.

Même s'il n'y a pas d'affaire explicite dans un village de montagne recouvert de neige où Sherlock Holmes enquête, cela pourrait assez bien s'accorder avec l'affaire « Flamme d'Argent », où les traces d'un cheval disparu sont retrouvées dans la neige.

Die Sherlock Holmes Geschichte "das Musgrave-Ritual" handelt von alten Eichen und Ulmen, welche mich zu folgendem Werk inspirierten.  »Wem gehörte sie? - Jenem, welcher von uns ging. Wer soll sie erhalten? - Jener, welcher kommen wird. Wo war die Sonne? - Über der Eiche. Wo war der Schatten? - Unter der Ulme. Wie ward geschritten?«

The Sherlock Holmes story “The Musgrave Ritual” is about old oaks and elms, which inspired me to write the following artwork. »Whose was it? His who is gone. Who shall have it? He who will come. Where was the sun? Over the oak. Where was the shadow? Under the elm. How was it stepped?«

L'histoire de Sherlock Holmes « The Musgrave Ritual » parle de vieux chênes et d'orme, ce qui m'a inspiré pour écrire l'œuvre d'art suivante. « Qui était-ce ? Celui qui est parti. Qui l'aura ? Celui qui viendra. Où était le soleil ? Au-dessus du chêne. Où était l'ombre ? Sous l'orme. Comment était-il monté ? »

Ich war heute im Landesmuseum in der Ausstellung "Frischer Wind" - Impressionismus im Norden. Dort hing auch ein Bild von Willem Witsen (1860-1923). Da ich den Maler noch nicht kannte, habe ich mal gegoogelt, was er sonst so gemalt hat. Unter anderem einige Schneelandschaften. Eine hiervon war die Vorlage für meine heutige Studie.

I went to the Provincial Museum today to see the exhibition “Fresh Wind” - Impressionism in the North. There was also a painting by Willem Witsen (1860-1923). As I didn't know the painter yet, I googled what else he painted. Among other things, some snow landscapes. One of these was the model for my study today.

Je suis allée au musée provincial aujourd'hui pour voir l'exposition « Vent frais » - L'impressionnisme dans le Nord. Il y avait aussi un tableau de Willem Witsen (1860-1923). Comme je ne connaissais pas encore ce peintre, j'ai cherché sur Google ce qu'il avait peint d'autre. Entre autres, des paysages de neige. L'un d'entre eux a servi de modèle à mon étude d'aujourd'hui.
