On Sunday, I went sketching at the State Museum with the Urban Sketchers Hannover. I always find staircases really exciting to draw.

Mushrooms seem to like to grow in groups. Although, of course, most of the mushroom actually lives in the forest floor.

We met in front of the NDR Concert Hall on a beautiful fall day. Right in front of it was Barista Hatem’s lovely stand, serving the most delicious Fogarelli coffee. Thanks to the friendly barista!

Fungal Community - Fall is also mushroom season. But I would never dare to pick, prepare, or—let alone—eat a mushroom I found myself.

The “terror bird” is on display at the Natural History Museum in Vienna. It was completely harmless, though, even though there were fire extinguishers hanging all over the place.

I did my last sketch in Vienna here on the Lerchenfelder Gürtel. Amid the noise and heavy traffic, we sat at Mikes and enjoyed a drink in the sun. That’s also where we met Vienna’s “Gürtel King,” and he interviewed me ;)

The real reason for what has now become an annual trip to Vienna is the “Nütz Weekend” at my friend Stefan Nützel’s place. It has since turned into a sort of class reunion with many like-minded painters.
