Obwohl ich diese komische Ding hier rumliegen habe, bin ich noch ganz froh, es bisher nur zwei Mal benutzt zu haben. Jeweils zum Entfernen von Holzsplittern aus dem Finger. (Wer sich jetzt fragt, wie man mit einem Buch einen Holzsplitter entfernt, hat eindeutig den Schalk im Nacken.)

Even though I have this weird thing lying around here, I'm still very happy to have used it only twice. Respectively for removing splinters from the finger. (Who now wonders how to remove a splinter with a book, clearly is an old little prankster.

Am Feiertag der Arbeit war ein wenig Farnpflege angesagt. Das Zeug vermehrt im Vorgarten sich wie die Karnickel. Aber nur dort. Hinten vorm Gartenhaus will es einfach nicht angehen.

On yesterday's holiday a little care of fern was announced. This stuff in the front yard is fertile as rabbits. But only there. In the rear garden, its dead as a dodo.

Einer meiner stillen Lieblingsfilme ist immer noch »Eine Leiche zum Dessert«. Der Titel passt zum Fliegenpilz. Besonders auch zu der Stelle im Film, an der Sydney Wang seine berühmte Pilzgeschichte erzählen möchte, aber Sohn Nummer Eins dies verhindert. Tja, Filme gucken bildet!

Mushroom Dish
One of my favorite films still is »Murder by Death«. The title fits both the fly agaric. But its also suits perfectly to the point in the movie, when Sydney Wang tries to tell his famous mushroom story, but son number one prevents this unwillingly. Well, watching movies forms character! Another famous quote: Willie Wang: Why do I do all the dirty work, Pop? Sidney Wang: Cause your mother not here to do it.

Milch und Staub

Hier werden schon lange keine Kühe mehr gemolken oder Milchkannen abgeholt. Vorbei die fettreichen Tage. Längst schon hat der Bauer den hölzernen Kittel angelegt und die letzte Kuh hat ins Gras gebissen. Jetzt schöpfen andere den Rahm ab. Die drei von der Milch-Haltestelle jedoch halten zusammen und trotzen gemeinsam Wind und Wetter.

Milk and Dust
For a long time no more cows had been milked here or milk cans had been collected. Gone are the fat days. It's all water under the bridge since the farmer kicked up his heels and the last cow kicked the bucket. Now another one is whipping the cream. The three from the milk stop still stick together and bravely resist wind and weather.

Das Brett

Wird das etwa eine Serie?
Heute nochmal ein Hausdetail.
Der Alternativtitel: »Stillleben mit Brett (ohne Pitt)« war mir dann doch zu gewagt. Aber falls ich jemals eine Wurstbude aufmache, heißt die unbedingt »Brat-Pitt«.

Bitte mit Betonung auf die letzte Silbe, also wie im französischen »Château«. Womit das Wortspiel dem Licht- und Schattenspiel Rechnung trägt.
Eine schöne alte Tür mit altem Schloss und dreierlei Riegeln. Ob dahinter wohl ein geheimes Örtchen lag? Oder doch nur ein stilles?

Please, put the emphasis on the last syllable, so as in French »Château«. Thus will provide the play of light and shadow with the play of words.

Heller Garten

Zum gestrigen Mittwochszeichnen ging es zur Skizzenkollegin in den Garten. Die Pflaumenkuchensaison ist hiermit offiziell eröffnet. Was stand dort schon wieder hinterhältig lauernd im Busch und schrie? (Siehe Daily Painting #0367 von letztem Donnerstag.) Das Motiv machte es mir diesmal aber nicht leicht und somit habe ich heute die Kanne nochmal in Acryl umgesetzt. 
Diesmal hat sich wieder etwas eingeschlichen...

Heller Garden
To our Wednesday's Sketching we met in our dear bakery queen's garden. The plum cake season is now officially opened. Imagine, what was one more time sneaky lurking in the bush and crying? Heute ist Zahltag. Nein, mal ehrlich jetzt. Kunst macht man ja nicht, um Kasse zu machen. Obwohl ich natürlich auch nichts dagegen hätte. Aber solange ich noch täglich neue Mal-Herausforderungen sehe, wird wohl noch nichts mit Aufhören.
Zum Beispiel ist diese Kasse noch lange nicht so (grrr), wie ich es wollte. Aber irgendwann musste mal Schluss sein und darum bleibt sie (erstmal) so.

Today's payday. No, just kiddin'. Art is for the art and not do to make cash. Though, of course I would not mind. And while I still see new daily time-challenges there will be no quitting.
For example, this cash register is not the way I wanted it to be (grrr). But at some point had to be an end. So let's see, if I will work on it again.
