Ab Sonntag bin ich eine Woche in Amsterdam auf dem Weltkongress der Urban Sketcher. Der offizielle Beginn ist erst am Mittwoch. Mit wir einigen Bekannten und Freunden skizzieren wir auch jetzt schon fleißig.

From Sunday I am one week in Amsterdam at the World Congress of Urban Sketchers. The official start is on Wednesday. Together with some friends and colleagues we are already busy sketching.

Architektonische Motive wie dieses liegen mir ganz gut. Darum habe ich auch wenig Sorgen, wenn ich irgendwo oben mit dem BrushPen anfange und mich langsam runterhangele bis zum Straßenbelag.

Architectural subjects like that suit me quite well. That's why I don't have to worry if I start with the BrushPen somewhere at the top and slowly shimmy down to the road surface.

Des sujets architecturaux comme ça me conviennent très bien. C'est pourquoi je n'ai pas à m'inquiéter si je commence avec le BrushPen quelque part en haut et si je me mets à descendre lentement vers la surface de la route.

2884 Knochenhauerstraße

Am Wochenende mit einer Vegetarierin in der Knochenhauerstraße gewesen. Wir haben aber alle fleißig gemeinsam mit ihrem Mann vor dem Café Konrad sitzend mitskizziert und dabei bei einer Bol de Café den Welterfahrungen des Milchbubis am Nachbartisch gelauscht.

That weekend I was with a vegetarian in the Knochenhauerstraße (Bone Hitter Road). But we all sketched diligently together with her husband sitting in front of Café Konrad and listened to the world experiences of a baby face while drinking milk coffée.

Ce week-end-là, j'étais avec un végétarien dans la Knochenhauerstraße (Rue du frappeur d'os). Mais nous avons tous dessiné avec diligence avec son mari assis devant le Café Konrad écoutant les expériences mondaines d'un visage de bébé en buvant du café au lait.

Gestern waren wir bei Volkmar in Gehrden zum Zeichnen. Dort steht das alte Türmchen, welches das alte Spritzenhaus war. Seit 1976 ist es eine Gaststätte.

Yesterday we were with Volkmar in Gehrden to sketch. There you can see the old turret, which was the former fire engine house. Since 1976 it is a restaurant.

Hier, nous étions avec Volkmar à Gehrden pour faire des croquis. Là, vous pouvez voir l'ancienne tourelle, qui était l'ancienne caserne de pompiers. Depuis 1976, c'est un restaurant.

Trude heißt bei mir jede Taube unbekannter Provenienz. Und wieder kam eine Heldin meines Bildes direkt bei Beginn der Skizzendemo auf mich zugetrottet. Danke Trude.

For me, Trudy means every dove of unknown provenance. And again a heroine of my picture came to me right at the beginning of the sketch demo. Thank you Trudy.

So wie letztes Wochenende in Bad Karlshafen und der Burg Herstelle, gebe ich auch an diesem Freitag bis Sonntag meinen »Quick & Dirty Skizzenkurs«. Thema ist der »Rote Faden« in Hannover, auf dem man die bekanntesten Sehenswürdigkeiten der Stadt ablaufen und natürlich skizzieren kann.

Am Samstag habe ich in Bad Karlahafen mit den Kursteilnehmern vorm Rathaus bei 35°C im Schatten ausgeharrt unddie Stadt gezeichnet.

On Saturday I stayed in Bad Karlahafen with the participants of the workshop in front of the town hall to find some shade at 95 degreees Fahrenheit and we drew the village.

Le samedi je suis resté à Bad Karlahafen avec les participants de l'atelier devant la mairie pour trouver de l'ombre à 35 degrés Celsius et nous avons dessiné le village.

Gestern haben wir einen schönen Grill- und Sketchabend im Kleingarten verbringen dürfen. Je später es wurde, desto weniger störte die Hitze des Tages. es wurde sogar wunderbar kühl, sobald sich die Sonne dem Horizont näherte.

Yesterday we were allowed to spend a nice barbecue and sketch evening in the allotment garden. The later it became, the less the heat of the day disturbed. It even became wonderfully cool as soon as the sun approached the horizon.

Hier, nous avons eu le loisir de passer une belle soirée barbecue et sketch dans le jardin familial. Plus il se faisait tard, moins la chaleur de la journée était dérangée. Il faisait même merveilleusement frais dès que le soleil approchait de l'horizon.

Der schöne Weg hoch zur Kapelle von Montselice wird gesäumt von mehreren Kreuzweg-Häuschen. Oben liegen sichtbar hinter Glas die sterblichen Überreste mehrerer Christen, die im Colosseum von den Löwen zerkaut wurden. Nice.

The beautiful path up to the chapel of Montselice is lined by several crossroad stations. At the top, visible behind glass, are the remains of several Christians who were chewed by the lions in the Colosseum. Nice.

Le beau sentier jusqu'à la chapelle de Montselice est bordé par plusieurs stations de croisement. Au sommet, visible derrière une vitre, se trouvent les restes de plusieurs chrétiens qui ont été mâchés par les lions dans le Colisée. Nice.

Habe noch eine schöne Skizze vom Barkenhoff im Skizzenbuch gefunden. Einfach aber wirkungsvoll. Die nächsten Tage werden heiß, Freunde. Freue mich aber trotzdem, morgen endlich wieder ein paar neue Skizzen in Acryl zu beginnen.

Found a nice sketch of the Barkenhoff in the sketchbook. Simple but effective.

The next days will be hot, friends. But I'm still happy to finally start some new sketches in acrylic tomorrow.

J'ai trouvé un joli croquis du Barkenhoff dans le carnet de croquis. Simple mais efficace. Les prochains jours seront chauds, mes amis. Mais je suis toujours heureux de pouvoir enfin commencer de nouvelles esquisses à l'acrylique demain.

Hier kann man Zeitungen, Zigaretten und Alkohol kaufen.

Letzteres dann auch, wenn alle anderen Läden schon geschlossen haben. Die Trinkhalle ist eine besondere Form davon.

Diese ist im Stadtteil Döhren.

There are many kiosks in Hannover.

Here you can buy newspapers, cigarettes and alcohol.

The latter also when all other shops have already closed. The "Trinkhalle" (Drinking Hall") is a special form of it.

This one is in the district Döhren.
