1582 Stadt der Nacht und des Lichts

Als Gegendarstellung zum gestrigen Bild gibt es heute viel Farbe. 
Gemalt habe ich auf eine schwarz grundierte Leinwand. 
Es gibt auch viele »Details«. Wobei man einmal genau hinschauen sollte, eigentlich erkennt man nichts Genaues.

As a reply to yesterday's painting, today's here a lot of color. 
I have painted on a black primed canvas. 
You see, there are many »details« - but you should look closely and you'll recognize nothing definite.

Eine Steigerung und gleichzeitig eine Vereinfachung zeigt sich durch das Weglassen. Eine beschränkte Farbpalette, die fast schwarz weiß ist und wenige Farbnuancen. Ich hätte das Taxi knallgelb machen können, doch das erschien mir dann doch ein zu billiger Trick und darum habe ich es gelassen.

Increasing the effect while simplifying. A limited palette, which is almost black and white plus a few color nuances. Painting the cab in a bright yellow seemed a too cheap trick then, that's why I left it like this.

Während der Einkaufstouren durch die Stadt schaue ich intuitiv und unterbewusst immer nach brauchbaren Zeichen- und Malmotiven. Je nachdem, krame ich dann mein Skizzenbuch oder meine (Handy-)Kamera heraus. Nur ein Bruchteil der Bilder wird wirklich auch gemalt. Schuhe sind immer ein besonders schönes Motiv, finde ich.

Ladyshoe
During shopping tours through the city, I am intuitively and subconsciously looking for useful things to paint. If something's spotted for being worth enough, I rummage out my sketchbook or my (mobile phone's) camera. Only a fraction of the photos then I really paint later. Shoes always make perfect painting motifs -amho.
