Die ein wenig größere grob grundierte Leinwand stand nun schon die ganze Zeit im Atelier. Heute nahm ich mir endlich ein Herz und füllte sie mit einem expressiven Bildthema.

Am Wochenende war ein liebe Aquarellfrendin zu Besuch und wir haben natürlich zusammen gemalt. Ich habe mir ein relativ abstraktes Motiv herausgesucht. Das errät bestimmt wieder niemand, was das ist? (Auflösung morgen – ich freue mich aber eure Vermutungen hierzu.)

Last weekend was a dear watercolor friend visited me and of course we have painted together. I've picked out a relatively abstract motif. Guess what it is? (Resolution comes tomorrow - but I look forward to your suspicions.)

As so often, I let the fate its chance to perform. Thus, from a not so successful portrait attempt on a big canvas quickly developped a marine atmosphere. Sometimes you have to let yourself just drift away a little while.

Ich habe meine Odysseus-Serie wohl etwas vernachlässigt. Aber dieser ließ es sich bei Kirke ja auch ein Jahr lang gutgehen. Schließlich gab sie auch den in Schweine verzauberten Gefährten von Odysseus deren menschliche Gestalt wieder.

oops, I neglectes my Odysseus series a bit. But he indeed got well for a year as Circe's lover. Finally, she re-bewitched the companions from pigs into their human form.

Kein Schmetterling

Ursprünglich war dies als Untermalung für den gestrigen Schmetterling gedacht. Ich fand es aber so auch so »interessant« und habe es so als eigenständiges abstraktes Bild gelassen.

No Butterfly

This was originally intended as a underpainting for yesterday's butterfly. I thought it was »interesting« as it was. So I'll leave it as an abstract daily painting.

Odysseus' Rückkehr

Odysseus kehrt nach 20 Jahren als Bettler verkleidet in sein altes Haus zurück. Nur sein treuer sterbender Hund erkennt ihn wieder. Erst später fällt der Drachme auch bei der alten Magd Eurykleia.

Odysseus' Return

20 years passed by. Disguised as a beggar, Odysseus returns to his old house. Only his faithful dying dog recognizes him. Much later, the penny drops for the old maid Eurycleia .

Poseidons Rache

Nachdem Odysseus sich den Meeresgott zum Feind gemacht hatte, nahm Poseidon fast jede Möglichkeit wahr, ihn zu bestrafen. So erlitt er auf seinen Irrfahrten mehrfachen Schiffbruch. Die Insel Scheria erreichte er nur, weil er den Rat und den Schleier der Meeresgöttin Leukothea annahm und schwimmend den Strand erreichte.

Poseidon's Revenge

After Odysseus had made the god of the sea to his enemy, Poseidon took advantage of almost every opportunity to punish him. So Odysseus suffered multiple shipwrecks . He only reached the island Sheria, because he accepted the advice and the veil of the goddess of the sea Leukothea and reached the beach swimming.
