Für dieses Bild hatte ich eine eher schlechte Vorlage und der ganze rechte Teil war unscharf und zu dunkel. Doch der englische Laden mit den blauen Schaufenster gefiel mir sehr. Im fertigen Bild gab es auch für mich eine Überraschung: In den Personen sehe ich nun Nonnen beim Ausflug, die sich interessiert die Auslage in einer ganz anderen Art von Schaufenster ansehen. Was dort wohl verkauft wird? Man beachte auch den mahnenden (oder vulgären?) Schatten an der vorderen Hauswand.

Nuns Xing

For this picture, I had a rather poor photography and the whole right side was out of focus and too dark. But I loved the British shop with the blue storefront. The finished painting offered a real surprise to myself: I found these two nuns on vacation, viewing the display in a very different kind of shop. What kind of shop is this? Also note the admonitoring (or vulgar?) shadow on the front wall.

Beim diesjährigen Empfang des neuen Oberbürgermeisters von Hannover war unsere Skizziertruppe sehr fleißig unterwegs. Meine Ergebnisse (Tusche und Lavierung im Skizzenbuch 15 x 21 cm) sind auch sehr umfangreich geworden. Heute ein Teil davon.

At this year's reception of the new Lord Mayor of Hannover our sketchgroup was very busy. My results in the sketchbook (pencil and ink) have also become very extensive.

Da lagen sich wieder viele Menschen unfreiwillig in den Armen. Es gab großen Jubel in stillen Ecken. Adventliche Gerüche konkurrierten mit einem auf der Zunge liegenden Parfum. Flimmernder Sternenglanz und wärmender Feuerschein erhellte die Szenerie. Und dazu gab es jazzig improvisierte saxophonische Leckerbissen beim Schatz der Inkas im Teestübchen. 

Kurzum: Es weihnachtet!

Christmas People

Again people were embosemed against their will. It was a great rejoicing and many a quiet corners. Advent odors competed with perfumes lying on the tip of my tongue. Flickering starlights and the warming glow of illuminating fires. Some jazzy improvised saxophone tidbits share the Treasure of the Incas in the Tearoom's terrace.
