0479 Seitenstraße

Ich habe nun die ganzen 2.838 Fotos unseres La Palma Urlaubs gesichtet und werde in loser Folge ein paar persönlich interessanter Motive als Acrylbild umsetzen. 
Das erste hiervon zeigt eine Nebengasse in Tazacorte, die immer wieder von hohen Mauern mit dahinterliegenden Bananenplantagen begrenzt wird. Kleinlaster schaffen die noch grünen Früchte dann in die Sammelstellen. 
Esst mehr Früchte zum Nikolaustag!

Side Street
I have now spotted all of my 2.838 La Palma holiday photos. I am going to paint an occasional series of a few interesting personal motives in acrylic. 
The first in a row shows a side street in Tazacorte which is surrounded by high walls with banana plantations behind. Mini vans are transporting the green fruits to the collection points.
Eat more fruits on St Nicolas day!

Wanderschatten

Das Wandern und Pendeln geht noch etwas weiter im Dezember. Zum Glück habe ich in den letzten drei Wochen fleißig Aquarell üben dürfen. Somit kann ich diese Technik nun noch etwas verlängert zeitsparend einsetzen, um mein Daily Painting abliefern zu können. Derweil freue ich mich aber schon riesig aufs nächste Acrylbild!

Walking Shadow
Walking and commuting goes on in December. Luckily I was able to practice watercolor diligently in the past three weeks. So now I can use this technique to an even slightly extended time and will be able to deliver my daily painting. I'm looking forward to the next acrylic painting!

Bananas

...sind auf spanisch »Platanos«. Und davon gibt es auf der Insel Millionen. Die kleinen leckeren Dinger kommen aber hauptsächlich im spanischen Festland in den Handel. Nochmal ein kleiner Abschiedsgruß nach La Palma. Bald gibt es dann wieder Acrylbilder »Made in Germany«.

Einer der letzen Blicke auf die Insel. Los Llanos "Cafémeile" nach einer ausgedehnten Wanderung im schönen Norden der Insel.

Puertito

Ein abschüssiger Weg nach unten durch schroffe Felsen muss genommen werden. Nur um sich unten am Hafen vor den tosenden Wellen retten zu lassen? Aber natürlich geht es danach wieder steil bergauf.

It's a sloping path down through steep rocks. But only to be saved in front of the crashing waves in the harbour? But, of course, the return is a steep hill upwards.

Lorbeerbaum

Diese schönen und starken Bäume auf dem Hauptplatz von Los LLanos haben sich ihre Lorbeeren redlich verdient. Wir möchten uns noch lange daran erfreuen.

These beautiful and strong trees in the main square of Los Llanos have earned their laurels honestly. Hopefully we can enjoy it for a long time.

Risco de las Parelitas

Gestern wanderten wir in der Gegend des Torre El Time. 
Von unserem fantastischen -eigentlich friedlichen- Aussichtspunkt aus konnte man die Schüsse der Jäger hören, die lange Zeit im Calderkrater echoten.

Yesterday we hiked in the area of the Torre El Time. From our fantastic -peaceful- vantage point you could hear the shots of hunters echoing a long time in the Caldera crater.

Landtag

Der typische kanarische Alltag auf dem Land. Bananenbauern machen Mittagspause in der Bar (schon morgens wird "ein Gläschen" geschlürft). Die Katzen dösen im Schatten und die Nachbarn tauschen sich (natürlich bei laufenden Motoren) auf der Straße aus.   

Countrylife
The typical Canarian life in the country. Banana farmers have their lunch break in the bar (with the first "small sipping"). The cats doze in the shade and the neighbors exchange important information (of course with their engines running) out on the street.

Tapas & Trekking

Der Name ist Programm, denn nach dem Trekking fahren wir oft noch zum sonnigen Platz an unserer Lieblingskapelle in El Paso, um ein wenig Tapas zu naschen.  

The name says it all. 
After the trekking we often drive to the sunny spot at our favorite chapel in El Paso, to snack some tapas.

Santo Domingo

Gestern war der Norden der Insel das Ziel unseres Interesses. Etwas rauer, urwüchsiger und grüner kommt er daher. Auch etwas nebliger und zuweilen kühl. Eine Oase der Ruhe. 

Yesterday the north of the island was the target of our interest. A bit more rough, unspoilt, greener. Somewhat hazy and sometimes cool. A sea of tranquility.

La Plaza Chica

Der kleine Platz in Los Llanos ist einer meiner Lieblingsplätze der Insel. Niedrige kanarische Häuser umrunden uns, die Bepflanzung ist üppig und hohe Palmen bieten Schatten- und Sonnenplätze auf den Steinbänken. Mal toben hier wild die Kinder, ein anderes Mal sitzen hier die Alten. Und der Brunnen in der Platzmitte plätschert munter vor sich hin.

The small square in Los Llanos is one of my favorite places on the island. Low Canarian houses are circling us, the planting is lush and tall palm trees provide shady and sunny spots on the stone benches. Sometimes here are playing kids, sometimes the elders sit and talk. And the fountain in the middle of the square splashes merrily to itself.

Calvo Sotelo

In vielen, aus nordeuropäischer Sicht, ansprechenden Cafés und Restaurants stellt sich ein Deutscher oder Holländer als Besitzer heraus. Das Café "Rami" in der Calvo Sotelo und das inselweit empfohlene "Carpe Diem" sind nette Verweilorte mit zuvorkommender Bedienung und bieten äußerst leckeres Essen.

Many attractive cafes and restaurants (from the northern European point of view) have a German or Dutch owner. The Café "Rami" in the Calvo Sotelo and the islandwide recommended "Carpe Diem" in Tazacorte are nice places to be and offer delicious food.

Kleine Kapelle

In El Paso gibt es eine Hauptkirche und darüber eine ältere kleine Kapelle mit einer gut besuchten  Tapasbar davor. Von hier aus hat man einen schönen Blick auf einen dreieckigen Platz. Ich setze also die Reihe "Kaffeetrinken und Skizzieren" fort. 

Small Chapel
In El Paso, there is a small chapel with a small tapas bar in front of it. From here you have a beautiful view to the triangular square. So I continue my series "drinking coffee while sketching".

Calle Alvarez

in Santa Cruz de la Palma mit einem Durchblick zum Kirch- und Rathausplatz. Von der Bar BolaBola aus gezeichnet. Hier gab es viele nette Kommentare vom spanischen Nebentisch und Ausflugstipps für Zeichentouren auf der Insel.

Cumbre Nueva

Auf der gestrigen Wanderung rund um El Paso skizziert. Eine sehr liebliche Landschaft mit sanften Hügeln. Agaven, Palmen, Mandelbäume, Kanarische Kiefern und Opuntien geben ein Stelldichein.

Outlined at yesterday's walk around El Paso. A very beautiful landscape of rolling hills. Agaves, palms, almond trees, Canary pine trees and cacti give a rendezvous.

La Glorieta

Ein vollkommen "mosaikener" Platz in Las Manchas de Abajo. Mit vielen Naturmotiven und einem Chamäleon-Brunnen. Sehr farbenfroh, wie vieles hier auf der Insel.

A completely "mosaic" place in Las Manchas de Abajo. With a lot of natural motifs and a chameleon-well. Very colorful, like most of the buildings and sights here on the island.

Los Llanos

Im Aridanetal liegt die heimliche Hauptstadt La Palmas. Im Zentrum sitzt man unter Schatten spendenden Lorbeerbäumen und trinkt seinen Café. In meinem Fall, den mit Leche.

...lies in the Aridanetal and is the unofficial capital of the Island. In the center, you sit in the shade of laurel trees and drink your coffee. In my case, it's the one with the leche (milk).
