Das Hochkantformat ist auch bei Landschaften reizvoll. Normalerweise denkt man ja dabei im Querformat (englisch: Landscape).

The portrait format is also attractive for landscapes. Normally landscape is -uhm- in landscape format.

Geht auch: Eine Landschaft ganz ohne Bauwerke. Ein See im Norden.

Die Schwierigkeit beim Malen des Himmels besteht darin, dass dieser nicht grün wird. Was er aber tut, wenn man Gelb/Orange mit Blau mischt und die Farbschichten nicht zwischendurch trocknen lässt.

A lake in the north. 

The difficulty in painting the sky is to prevent it from turning into green. What it does, when mixing yellow/orange with blue and if the color layers are not allowed to dry.

Farblich begebe ich mich heute ins Orangenland. Doch in Polen werden wohl keine Zitrusfrüchte in freier Natur wachsen. Dafür gibt's ein schönes Flusspanorama an der Oder in Breslau (polnisch Wrocław).

Speaking in color I move to oranges today. But in Poland there will probably be no citrus fruits growing in the wild. There is a beautiful river panorama at the Oder in Wrocław.

1944 Buchvorankündigung

Wie versprochen ein paar Details zu meinem ersten Buch:
Ende Juni wurde ich vom EMF Verlag gefragt,
ob ich ein Buch zu meiner Malerei schreiben würde.
Klar, ich wollte!
Vorgestern habe ich das Manuskript zum Verlag geschickt :)
Jetzt dauert es aber noch sooo lange...
Viel mehr wird (und darf ich) noch nicht verraten.

As I promised yesterday, here a few details on my first book:
At the end of June I was asked by EMF Verlag,
if I would like to write a book about my painting style.
Yep, I wanted! 
Last Sunday I sent the manuscript to the publisher :)
And now it takes sooo long...
Much more will not yet be revealed by now.

Das Nachmittagsbild (halb fertig) bei boesner war meine Lieblingsbrücke in New York. Hatte ich ja auch schon oft geübt. Womit die Überleitung zur gestern angekündigten "Schönen Nachricht 2" gelungen wäre:
