Gestern war der erste Tag meines Daily Painting Workshops auf der schönen Burg Herstelle. Üblicherweise starten wir mit "einfachen" Stillleben von Gemüse oder Obst. Diesmal waren die Äpfel aus dem eigenen Garten das Motiv. Aber was heißt schon "einfach"?

Yesterday was the first day of my Daily Painting workshop at the beautiful Castle Herstelle. Usually we start with "simple" still lifes of vegetables or fruit. This time the apples from our own garden were the motif. However, what does "simple" mean?

La première journée de mon atelier quotidien de peinture s'est déroulée hier dans le magnifique château de Herstelle. Habituellement, nous commençons par des natures mortes "simples" de légumes ou de fruits. Cette fois, les pommes de notre propre jardin en étaient le motif. Mais que signifie "simple" ?

My on-site sketches of Maubec were a reference for today's painting. It is always a pleasure to reactivate one' s holiday memories using this picturesque way of painting.

Am Sonntag fand bei herrlichstem Oktoberwetter um die 28°C unser USK-Treffen am Steintor in Hannover statt. Wir hatten wohl an die 40 Teilnehmer. Great!

On Sunday our USK-meeting took place at the Steintor in Hanover with most marvellous October weather about 82°Fahrenheit. We had probably about 40 participants. Great!

Dimanche, notre rendez-vous de l'USK s'est passé au Steintor à Hanovre avec le plus beau temps d'octobre, environ 28°C. Je suppose que nous avions environ 40 participants. Super !

Irgendwas gibt es ja immer zu feiern. In Frankreich auch ein Grund, die Fahnen rauszuholen. Auch die Sackgassenschilder feiern in den Landesfarben blau-weiß-rot.

There's always something to party about. In France this is always a reason to get the flags out. Also the dead end signs celebrate in the national colours blue-white-red. 

Il y a toujours quelque chose à fêter. En France, c'est aussi une raison pour retirer les drapeaux. Aussi les signes d'impasse célèbrent dans les couleurs nationales bleu-blanc-rouge.

Gestern mit den Mittwochssketchies auf dem Rathausturm gewesen zum Skizzieren. Die Fahrt mit dem Schrägaufzug ist spaßig und die Aussicht auf die Stadt spektakulär.

Yesterday I went sketching together with the Wednesday Sketchers Group onto the town hall tower. The ride with the inclined elevator is fun and the view over the city spectacular.

Ein Blick die Treppe herauf und ins Licht. In reduzierten Farben wird es nicht ganz so chaotisch, wie in Wirklichkeit. Am wichtigsten waren mir die Internet(?)-Verteilerboxen.

A look up the stairs and into the light. In reduced colours it is not quite as chaotic as in reality. Most important to me were the Internet(?) distribution boxes.

Un regard en haut des escaliers et vers la lumière. En couleurs réduites, il ne devient pas aussi chaotique qu'en réalité. Le plus important pour moi, ce sont les boîtes de distribution Internet(?).

Dieses Wochenende findet der Workshop meines Freundes Niko von der Assen in der Kunstfabrik Hannover statt. Das Motiv, was er dort gestern malte hat auch mich direkt angesprochen. So habe ich es gleich auch einmal (allerdings in Acryl) versucht.
