La Plaza Chica

Der kleine Platz in Los Llanos ist einer meiner Lieblingsplätze der Insel. Niedrige kanarische Häuser umrunden uns, die Bepflanzung ist üppig und hohe Palmen bieten Schatten- und Sonnenplätze auf den Steinbänken. Mal toben hier wild die Kinder, ein anderes Mal sitzen hier die Alten. Und der Brunnen in der Platzmitte plätschert munter vor sich hin.

The small square in Los Llanos is one of my favorite places on the island. Low Canarian houses are circling us, the planting is lush and tall palm trees provide shady and sunny spots on the stone benches. Sometimes here are playing kids, sometimes the elders sit and talk. And the fountain in the middle of the square splashes merrily to itself.

Calvo Sotelo

In vielen, aus nordeuropäischer Sicht, ansprechenden Cafés und Restaurants stellt sich ein Deutscher oder Holländer als Besitzer heraus. Das Café "Rami" in der Calvo Sotelo und das inselweit empfohlene "Carpe Diem" sind nette Verweilorte mit zuvorkommender Bedienung und bieten äußerst leckeres Essen.

Many attractive cafes and restaurants (from the northern European point of view) have a German or Dutch owner. The Café "Rami" in the Calvo Sotelo and the islandwide recommended "Carpe Diem" in Tazacorte are nice places to be and offer delicious food.

Kleine Kapelle

In El Paso gibt es eine Hauptkirche und darüber eine ältere kleine Kapelle mit einer gut besuchten  Tapasbar davor. Von hier aus hat man einen schönen Blick auf einen dreieckigen Platz. Ich setze also die Reihe "Kaffeetrinken und Skizzieren" fort. 

Small Chapel
In El Paso, there is a small chapel with a small tapas bar in front of it. From here you have a beautiful view to the triangular square. So I continue my series "drinking coffee while sketching".

Calle Alvarez

in Santa Cruz de la Palma mit einem Durchblick zum Kirch- und Rathausplatz. Von der Bar BolaBola aus gezeichnet. Hier gab es viele nette Kommentare vom spanischen Nebentisch und Ausflugstipps für Zeichentouren auf der Insel.

Cumbre Nueva

Auf der gestrigen Wanderung rund um El Paso skizziert. Eine sehr liebliche Landschaft mit sanften Hügeln. Agaven, Palmen, Mandelbäume, Kanarische Kiefern und Opuntien geben ein Stelldichein.

Outlined at yesterday's walk around El Paso. A very beautiful landscape of rolling hills. Agaves, palms, almond trees, Canary pine trees and cacti give a rendezvous.

Puerto de Tazacorte

Das schönste Haus am Platze ist es ja. 
Ob es auch das beste Lokal ist? 
Der ausschließlich spanisch sprechende untrendige weißhaarige Kellner im Lokal gegenüber ist mir jedenfalls lieber. Und den Ausblick auf das schöne gelbe Haus gibt es auch nur von hier. Die Sardinas waren zudem superlecker.

The prettiest house in town? Yes, it is. 
But is it the best restaurant as well?
I prefer the Spanish-speaking untrendy white-haired waiter in the restaurant on the opposite side. And the sardinas there are delicious.

La Glorieta

Ein vollkommen "mosaikener" Platz in Las Manchas de Abajo. Mit vielen Naturmotiven und einem Chamäleon-Brunnen. Sehr farbenfroh, wie vieles hier auf der Insel.

A completely "mosaic" place in Las Manchas de Abajo. With a lot of natural motifs and a chameleon-well. Very colorful, like most of the buildings and sights here on the island.

Los Llanos

Im Aridanetal liegt die heimliche Hauptstadt La Palmas. Im Zentrum sitzt man unter Schatten spendenden Lorbeerbäumen und trinkt seinen Café. In meinem Fall, den mit Leche.

...lies in the Aridanetal and is the unofficial capital of the Island. In the center, you sit in the shade of laurel trees and drink your coffee. In my case, it's the one with the leche (milk).

Las Tricias

Heute führt uns meine abendliche Skizze nach Las Tricias im Norden La Palmas. 
Hier leben sogar einige deutsche Aussteiger in Höhlen im Berg. 
Meditation und Eremitage All-inclusive.

Mazo

Die reizende Stadt Mazo hat einen kleinen Bauernmarkt. Dieser findet in einer Mehrzweckhalle statt, die leider etwas weniger hübsch daherkommt. Dafür entschädigt  der Blick Richtung Meer auf San Blas, eine im typisch kanarischen Stil errichtete Kirche. 

The lovely town of Mazo has a small farmers' market. This takes place in a multi-purpose hall, which is unfortunately a little less pretty. Full compensation offers the view towards the sea at San Blas, a church built in typical Canarian style.

El Paso

Am Fuße der Cumbre und der Caldera la Palmas liegt El Paso und ist Ausgangspunkt für viele schöne Wanderungen. Danach sitzt man dann in der Bar am Plaza de Pedro Capote Gutierpez an der kleinen Kapelle und kühlt seine Füße. 

El Paso is located at the foot of La Palma's caldera and is starting point for many hikes. Afterwards you may sit in the bar at the Plaza de Pedro Capote Gutierpez near the small chapel and cools your feet.

La Bombilla

Heute erste Skizzen und Eindrücke von La Palma. Der kleine farbenfrohe Ort La Bombilla bei strahlendem Sonnenschein. Doch das Tiefdruckgebiet hat sich noch nicht ganz verabschiedet. Mittags in Tazacorte jedoch in der Sonne gebrütet.

So langsam geht es gedanklich auf die Insel, in der ich mich nun etwas heimisch fühlen möchte. Dies ist eine Erinnerungszeichnung, darum auch noch leicht unscharf.

Gewächshaus

Heute geht's schon früh los. Ein bisschen Fliegerei und ich lande auf der kleinen Atlantikinsel La Palma. Aus früheren Jahren weiß ich, dass der Norden herrlich grün ist und einen entzückenden Nebelwald hat. In den letzten Wochen hat es auch fleißig dort geregnet. 
Das kann dann jetzt aufhören.

Greenhouse
Today it's starts. A bit of flying, and then I'll land on the small Atlantic island of La Palma. From previous years, I know that the North is wonderfully green and has a delightful cloud forest. In recent weeks it has been raining hard. 
This is then gonna stop now.

Retrodesign ist ja wieder gefragt, doch das originale Lebensgefühl von damals kann ich mir nur in meiner Fantasie vorstellen.

Cafe Parisien

Dieses Café in Arta auf Mallorca ist weit über seine Grenzen hinweg bekannt. Die Wallfahrtskirche Santuari de Sant Salvador ist allerdings auch überaus sehenswert. 
So langsam stimme ich mich auf den nächsten Urlaub ein. 
Allerdings geht es dann auf eine andere Insel.

This cafe in Arta / Majorca is known far beyond its borders. The Sanctuary of Sant Salvador is also worth a visit. 
Slowly I tune in to the next holiday. 
However, then it goes to another island.

Lomo Con Col

haben wir in einem Lokal in dieser mallorquinischen Straße in Valldemossa das erste Mal gegessen. Ein typisches Herbstgericht mit Schweinelende, Wirsingkohl, Rosinen, und verschiedenen landestypischen würzigen Wurstsorten. 
Man sollte keine Blogeinträge schreiben, wenn man Hunger hat.

In a restaurant in this Majorcan street in Valldemossa I've eaten lomo con col for the first time. It's a typical autumn dish with pork, cabbage, raisins, and various country-specific spicy sausages. 
I should not write blog entries, when I am hungry.

Linden

Im Restaurant im alten Lindener Rathaus sitzt man sehr nett. Man kann dort wunderbar seinem Zeichenlaster nachgehen. Mir gefällt besonders der Blick von der Empore.

It's very enjoyable at the restaurant in the old town hall of Hannover-Linden. In the restaurant you can follow your sketching lust. I particularly like the view from the balcony.
