Les Glycines

Schafft es der Frühling bereits im Januar, sich mit blauem Regen gegen den störrischen Winter zu behaupten? Bei uns im Garten reckt sich schon so mancher Tulpenstengel und es blüht bereits ein Krokus. Das gemalte Wisteriageäst allerdings stammt aus einem Frankreichurlaub.

This year's springtime is coming all too soon. Or will the almighty winter strike back with all its extremes? In my garden I've already seen some meddlesome tulip stipes and even a crocus in full bloom. The wisteria branches in my painting, I've seen in France, 2008.

My Dad

Gestern habe ich beim »CD-zum-Malen-Aussuchen« zielsicher die einzige gegriffen, in deren CD-Hülle (warum auch immer) ein Foto meines Papas steckte. Da hat mir mein Unterbewusstsein wohl anlässlich des 16. Todestag eine Aufgabe gegeben, der ich mich sogleich gestellt habe. Das Bild wurde dann auch innerhalb der Laufzeit von Pink Floyds »The Division Bell« fertig.

Yesterday I unerringly grabbed the only CD-case in my collection with a photography of my Dad inside. (For whatever reason I put it in. And when?). Well, since my subconscious mind commanded me to paint my dad on his 16th day of death, I accomplished this task instantly.
The painting then, was completed within the playing time of Pink Floyd's »The Division Bell«.

Vom Mammoth Campground aus, muss man nur eine kleine Wanderung den Hügel hinauf machen: Heute eine schöne Erinnerung an den fantastischen Blick zum Folsom, Cook und Prospect Peak und auf den von mancher heißen Quelle gespeisten Lava Creek.

From Mammoth Campground, you only have to make a small hike up the hill. Today, a beautiful reminder of the fantastic view on some Peaks and on the hot spring fed Lava Creek.

Rätsel des Tages: Aus welchem wunderbaren Film stammen folgende Zitate: »Der Wein mit der Pille ist im Becher mit dem Fächer, der Pokal mit dem Portal hat den Wein gut und rein.« »Der Wein mit der Pille ist im Kelch mit dem Elch. Der Becher mit dem Fächer hat den Wein gut und rein.« Auflösung folgt morgen. Das Bild jedenfalls stammt vom Skizzieren mit meiner Mittwochsgruppe.

For me, this is some kind of uninspired.
So my current picture of course deserves an own title.

Roussillon

Namensgebend für diesen kleinen Ort im französischen Vaucluse ist der rote Ocker, der dort abgebaut wird.
Die Pigmente changieren von lichtocker über gelb- und goldocker bis hin zu orange-, rot- und braunocker.
Gruß an alle Ockershäuser in Marburg, wo ich bis 2009 gewohnt habe.

The eponymous factor for this small French town in the Vaucluse is its red ochre, which is mined there.
The iridescent pigments change from light-ochre to yellow-ochre and gold- to orange-, red- and brown-ochre.
Greetings to all inhabitants of Ockershausen in Marburg, where I lived until 2009.

Heute unser vorletzter Adventskalenderblick in eine der vielen engen Gassen der Marburger Oberstadt. Das nachdenkenswerte Motto des Tages gab uns bereits 1928 ein gewisser E. Kästner: Morgen, Kinder, wird's nichts geben!
Umso erfreuter bin ich, dass unsere => Postkartenaktion fast 200 EUR für die Nordstädter Kindertafel gesammelt hat.
