Another great city is San Francisco. I experienced it 2005 in the sunshine and without fog. The ride with the cable car down to the piers is particularly impressive and is part of every tourist program.

1654 Die Straßen von San Francisco

Im Jahr 1974 startete die erste Folge in Deutschland. Karl Malden und Steve Heller waren   nur die Nebendarsteller in dieser Fernsehserie. Viel interssanter fand ich die kultige Titelmusik und die authentischen Aufnahmen der Stadt.

The Streets of San Francisco
The first episode was launched in 1974 in Germany. Karl Malden and Steve Heller were only the supporting cast in this TV-series. I was much more impressed by the iconic musical theme and the authenticity of the movie shots in the city.

Between us, the TV cartoon series with these moonfaces causes  physical discomfort in me, just at zapping by. Quite the opposite, when I think of the park and the café of the same name in San Francisco. Distinctly, this belongs to my personal list of »1.000 things you should have painted«.

Im Hintergrund zeichnet sich übrigens San Francisos Coit Tower ab. Besonders gelungen finde ich die leuchtende Straße am Horizont.

In the background you'll spot San Franciso's Coit Tower. I'm particulary satisfied with the painting of the bright road at the horizon.

ist ein asiatisches Brettspiel, was man in San Franciscos Chinatown gerne mal unter einem schattigen Baum spielt. 
Es ist ein »Umzingelungsspiel«, was man ja auch deutlich auf dem Bild sieht.


Go is an Asian board game which is played often in San Francisco's Chinatown under a shady tree. It is an "encircling game" what you can easily spot in my painting.

Palmenwald

Auch heute sehe ich den Wald vor lauter Bäumen nicht. Allerdings ist dies ein angelegter Wald in San Franciscos Golden Gate Park. (Seufz) ...es bleibt einfach eine schöne Stadt.

Even today I cannot see the forest for the trees. However, this is an landscaped forest in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park. (Sigh) ...it just remains a beautiful city.

Bob the builder

Irgendwann mitten beim Abendschmaus legte die Nachtbaustelle irgendwo in Downtown San Franciso los. Leider konnte man die Baustelle von unserem Restaurant aus vorher nicht sehen.
(»Frisco« sagt übrigens wirklich niemand, der dort lebt.)

Sometimes during the night meal a construction site laid off somewhere in downtown San Francisco. Too bad, we couldn't spot the construction before we chose the restaurant.
(Btw nobody says »Frisco« who lives there.)
