Wahrscheinlich wurden die Kannen und Eimer aus dem (leider herzlosen) Blechmann aus dem Buch »The Wonderful Wizard of Oz« recycled. Jedenfalls hat blechernes Gartengerät für mich oftmals einen Hang, malerisch dazustehen und »los, mal mich!« zu rufen.
Da geht's doch nicht mit rechten Dingen zu.

Probably, these jugs and buckets are recycled parts of the (heartless) Tin Man from the famous book »The Wonderful Wizard of Oz«. However, tinny garden tools often have a tendency to materialize in a most picturesque way and start yelling »go on, paint me!«.
Something mysterious is going on right here.

Chatelaillon

Vorerst aber sei es genug der San Francisco Bilder.
Es folgt ein kleiner Sprung -jedenfalls für den Maler- zur französischen Atlantikküste südlich von La Rochelle. Hier war das Abendessen, im Gegensatz zum gestrigen Daily Painting, ungestört. Mit traumhaften Blick auf den Strand und aufs Meer. Dazu ein leckeres Glas »white wine with the fish«, in dem sich die untergehende Sonne romantisch einfangen lässt.

Enough of the San Francisco for the moment.
It follows a small leap-at least for the painter- to the French Atlantic coast south of La Rochelle. This was, in contrast to yesterday's dinner-site undisturbed and romantic. With stunning views of the beach and the sea. Of course, a delicious glass of »white wine with the fish« captures romantically the setting of the sun.

Mastbetrieb

Es ist für mich immer wieder erstaunlich, dass in Nordamerikas »hochtechnisierten« Städten immer noch hunderttausende von Strommasten stehen. Meine Theorie ist, dass es denen einfach zu warm zum Buddeln ist. In Südeuropa ist es ja ähnlich.

Pole Position
Again and again it strikes me that in North America the »high-tech« cities are still depending on hundreds of thousands of power poles. My theory is that the weather is just too warmish there for digging. Well it's similar in southern Europe...

Jetzt wehen sie wieder, die Patriotenfläggchen. Aber zwei Plastikfahnen machen aus einem Opel Corsa noch immer keine Staatskarosse. Stattdessen male ich lieber ein paar andere Wimpelchen.

Now the patriot banners fly again. But two plastic flags doesn't make a diplomats vehicle out of an Vauxhall Corsa. Instead, I prefer painting a few others flags.

Fika

In Schweden nennt man so das Kaffetrinken am nachmittag. Allerdings bereits so zwischen 2 und 3 Uhr. Mein Favorite dazu ist die Kladdkaka, eine leckere Schokoladentorte. Am liebsten mit noch weichem warmen Schokokern. Auf dem heutigen Bild war's noch zu früh. Oder bereits zu spät?

In Sweden, the coffee time between 2 and 3 is called fika. My favorite side dish is the Kladdkaka (chocolate mud cake), preferably with a hot chocolate soft core. In today's daily painting it was still too early. Or just too late?

Farnsehen

In den letzen zwei Tagen ist der Grünanteil unseres Vorgartens nahezu explodiert. Aus dem zarten Grün der Schößlinge sind nun bereits riesige Blätter geworden.

Auf deutsch »Das Fräulein«.

The »Ami 6« was built in the 60s and comes from Citroën.
Pronounced »La misiss« it turned in Germany to »Fräulein«.
