Die Prozession

Nachdem also die beiden Vorgängerbilder dem Blümchen nicht huldigen wollten, begann ich gestern damit, es nochmal in Szene zu setzen. So ist die Blumenschar nun doch noch realisiert worden. Das Ergebnis dies:

The Procession
After the two previous images didn't plead allegiance to the flower, I started to set it on stage again. So the flowers finally have been realized. See the result:

Jedoch habe ich mich abermals entschlossen, das Bild auf den Kopf zu stellen und hiermit einen komplett anderen Inhalt zu schaffen, den ich nun dem Betrachter nicht vorwegnehmen möchte.

Der Grund

»Das ist ja das gleiche Bild wie gestern« werden vielleicht einige ausrufen. Doch mitnichten! Ist es doch die Untermalung zum eigentlich geplanten; ich will's mal 'Gänseblümchen-Bild' nennen. Das fand ich aber nun so interessant, dass ich dies jetzt als fertig ansehe und das Blümelein an anderer Stelle nachfolgt.

Der Fund

Eigentlich war es ja die Untermalung für ein Gänseblümchenbild. Doch als diese fertig war, ergaben sich viele interessante Formen und Deutungen. Also malte ich es einfach noch einmal. Macht euch selber ein Bild davon.

Actually it was the underpainting for a daisy picture.
But when this was done, there were many interesting forms and interpretations. So I just painted it all over again.

Nein, nicht Olympia, sondern Maschseefest.
Auch die allseits beliebten Wedelmädel dürfen hier nicht fehlen. Immer erkennbar am Puschel (büttä frongsöhsisch au-schprä-schön als »Püschel«).

King of Zydeco

»Heute ein König.«
Der König ist ein steinerner irgendwo an einer englischen Kirche. Beim Malen das entsprechende Lied gehört.

»It's good to be the king.«
 The king is a stoney (stoned) one, somewhere in England on a church. Listened to that song while painting.

Ja, die Königin der Herzen war sie.
Louise von Preußen. Nein, war nur ein Scherz.
Keine Ahnung, wer dort die in Steine gemeißelte Queen an der Kirchenfassade ist.

Maschseefest

Pünktlich zum Sommer findet in Hannover seit dem 1. August drei Wochen lang die feucht-fröhliche Dauerparty am Ufer des Sees statt. Anbei 2 Skizzen hiervon.

Chatelaillon

Vorerst aber sei es genug der San Francisco Bilder.
Es folgt ein kleiner Sprung -jedenfalls für den Maler- zur französischen Atlantikküste südlich von La Rochelle. Hier war das Abendessen, im Gegensatz zum gestrigen Daily Painting, ungestört. Mit traumhaften Blick auf den Strand und aufs Meer. Dazu ein leckeres Glas »white wine with the fish«, in dem sich die untergehende Sonne romantisch einfangen lässt.

Enough of the San Francisco for the moment.
It follows a small leap-at least for the painter- to the French Atlantic coast south of La Rochelle. This was, in contrast to yesterday's dinner-site undisturbed and romantic. With stunning views of the beach and the sea. Of course, a delicious glass of »white wine with the fish« captures romantically the setting of the sun.

Bob the builder

Irgendwann mitten beim Abendschmaus legte die Nachtbaustelle irgendwo in Downtown San Franciso los. Leider konnte man die Baustelle von unserem Restaurant aus vorher nicht sehen.
(»Frisco« sagt übrigens wirklich niemand, der dort lebt.)

Sometimes during the night meal a construction site laid off somewhere in downtown San Francisco. Too bad, we couldn't spot the construction before we chose the restaurant.
(Btw nobody says »Frisco« who lives there.)

Nummer 23

Auf der manuell betriebenen Drehscheibe an der Endhaltestelle Powell Ecke Market werden die weltberühmten Cable Cars gewendet. Die spektakuläre Fahrt runter zur Fisherman's Wharf darf man nicht verpassen.

On the manually operated turntable at the terminus Powell and Market, the world-famous cable cars are rotated so they face the opposite direction. Don't miss the spectacular ride down to Fisherman's Wharf.
