Habe gestern beim Aufräumen die erste Demo, die ich bei boesner gemacht habe, nochmal angeschaut. Für die begrenzte Zeit (ca. 20 Minuten mit Erklärungen) und das Thema "Vereinfachung" finde ich's gar nicht so schlecht.

Yesterday while keeping the place tidy I found my first demo I did at boesner. For the limited time (about 20 minutes incl. explanations) and according to the topic "simplification" I don't think it's bad at all.

Hier, tout en gardant l'endroit propre, j'ai trouvé ma première démo que j'ai faite chez Boesner. Pour le temps limité (environ 20 minutes avec explications) et selon le thème "simplification" je ne pense pas que ce soit mauvais du tout.

Am Nachmittag meiner gestrigen Demonstration bei boesner Hannover zum Thema "Stark vereinfacht..." malte ich ein Bild mit Pariser Eiffelturm. In den 1.5 Std. leider nicht ganz fertig geworden - hatte ich aber auch nicht erwartet.

In the afternoon demonstration yesterday at boesner Hannover the topic was "strongly simplified..." I painted the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Unfortunately not finished in 1.5 - but I had not expected that.

En après-midi, d'hier à Boesner Hannover le sujet a été "fortement simplifié..." J'ai peint la Tour Eiffel à Paris. Malheureusement pas fini en 1.5 - mais je ne m'y attendais pas.

Auch hier stellte sich mir beim Malen die Frage, was ich *nicht* malen will. Wobei ich mir diese Frage nicht bewusst stelle, sondern dies inzwischen intuitiv mache. Die Fähigkeit zur Vereinfachung hängt also stark mit der Erfahrung zusammen.

During the process of painting I asked myself what I *do not* want to paint. Whereby I do not ask myself this question consciously, but do it intuitively in between. So the ability to simplify is strongly related to experience.

Pendant la peinture, je me suis demandé ce que je *ne veux pas* peindre. Par conséquent, je ne me pose pas cette question consciemment, mais je le fais intuitivement entre-temps. La capacité à simplifier est donc fortement liée à l'expérience.

Eine weitere Methode zur Vereinfachung ist die schnelle Skizze mit wenig Details. Manchmal sieht das dann gut aus, manchmal gewöhnungsbedürftig. Aber wenn man es nicht ausprobiert, kann man auch nichts daraus lernen. Bei diesem Bild mag ich, dass die Kleckse unten doch irgendwie wie Autos im Nebel aussehen.

Another method for simplification is a quick sketch with few details. Sometimes it looks good and sometimes it  it needs getting used to. But if you don't try it, you can't learn anything from it. In this painting I like that the blobs below somehow look like cars in the smoke.

Une autre méthode de simplification est un croquis rapide avec peu de détails. Parfois ça a l'air bon et parfois il faut s'y habituer. Mais si vous ne l'essayez pas, vous ne pouvez rien apprendre de lui. Dans ce tableau, j'aime que les taches en dessous ressemblent à des voitures dans la fumée.

Okay, für diese Skizze braucht man etwas Fantasie: Das Bild ist von einem Balkon in der ersten Etage des Kestner Museums gezeichnet worden. Im Vordergrund sind wäscheleinenartig einige Leitungen gezogen, an denen Lampen in Taubenform hängen. So schaut's aus!

Okay, for this sketch you need some imagination: The picture was drawn from a balcony on the first floor of the Kestner Museum. In the foreground some lines are drawn like a clothesline, on which lamps in the shape of pigeons hang. This is what it looks like!

Ok, pour ce croquis, il faut avoir un peu d'imagination : l'image a été dessinée depuis un balcon au premier étage du musée Kestner. Au premier plan, quelques lignes sont tracées comme des cordes à linge, sur lesquelles pendent des lampes en forme de pigeons. C'est à ça que ça ressemble !

Nächste Woche Samstag ist es dann soweit und ich demonstriere bei boesner, wie man mit starker Vereinfachung zu schnellen und effizienten Bildlösungen gelangt. Da muss ich selber natürlich auch noch nach geeigneten Motiven suchen, damit es am Samstag fluppt. 

Next week Saturday is the day and I will demonstrate at boesner how to achieve fast and efficient paintings by simplifying the process. Of course, I have to look for suitable motifsto make it flow on Saturday. 

La semaine prochaine samedi est le jour et je vais démontrer à Boesner comment réaliser des peintures rapides et efficaces en simplifiant le processus. Bien sûr, je dois chercher des motifs appropriés pour réussir le samedi.

Der Triumph Stag, auch aus den 70er Jahren. Ein offener Sportwagen, der von British Leyland gebaut wurde. Die "Kenner" sagen "British Elend" - na, passt ja zum Brexit.

The Triumph Stag, also from the 70s. An open sports car built by British Leyland. In German it sound like "British Elend", what tranlates to "British Misery". Which perfectly fits the Brexit.

Le Triumph Stag, également des années 70. Une voiture de sport ouverte construite par British Leyland. Les "connaisseurs" en allemand disent "British Elend" que veut dire "la misère britannique" - et bien, ça correspond au Brexit.

Gestern Abend in Museum gezeichnet. Dort fand, wie beim letzten Mal zufällig eine Abendveranstaltung mit klassischer Musik statt. Sehr schönes Museum und beim Weinchen danach nette Menschen kennengelernt.

Drawn in a museum last night. There, as last time, an evening event with classical music took place by chance. Very nice museum and afterwards we met nice people while drinking wine.

Tracé dans le musée hier soir. Là, comme la dernière fois, une soirée de musique classique a eu lieu par hasard. Très joli musée et j'ai rencontré des gens sympathiques en buvant du vin par la suite.

Ein laubfroschgrüner Dodge Challenger aus den frühen Siebziger Jahren. 

Diese Art Autos wird auch Pony Cars genannt (lange Schnauze - kurzes Heck).

Gestern im "Weltenmuseum", wie sich das Niedersächsische Landesmuseum gerne nennt. Und wie von einer anderen Welt kam just beim Skizzieren ein Mann, der aussieht, als ob er Jesus heißen könnte die Treppe raufgeschwebt. War Jesus ein Hard Rock Cafe Fan?

Yesterday in the "World(s)Museum", as the Lower Saxony State Museum likes to call itself. And just as if from another world, while sketching a man came who looks as if he could be called Jesus and floats up the stairs. Was Jesus a Hard Rock Cafe fan?

Hier au "Musée du Mondes", comme le musée de Basse-Saxe aime se faire appeler. Et comme s'il venait d'un autre monde, alors qu'il dessinait un homme qui semble pouvoir s'appeler Jésus et qui flotte dans les escaliers. Jésus était-il un fan du Hard Rock Cafe ?

2699 Mustang

Nächstes Mal-Opfer ist ein Ford Mustang Coupe (2014). Nochmal zum Verständnis: Es geht bei den schnellen Acrylskizzen nicht um das exakte Vermessen oder eine super korrekte Darstellung, sondern um Bildaufbau, Bildwirkung und Farbkomposition. Die Stimmung in diesem Bild finde ich ganz schön, das werde ich dann demnächst etwas größer umsetzen.

Next painting victim is a Ford Mustang Coupe (2014). FYI: The fast acrylic sketches are not about the exact measurement or a super correct representation, but about image structure, image effect and color composition. I think the mood in this picture is quite nice, I'll do it on a larger format soon.

La prochaine victime de la peinture est une Ford Mustang Coupé (2014). Encore une fois pour la compréhension : Les esquisses acryliques rapides ne sont pas des mesures exactes ou une représentation super correcte. Elles concernent la structure de l'image, son effet et la composition des couleurs. Je pense que l'ambiance sur cette scène est plutôt sympa, je vais bientôt mettre cela en place un peu plus large.

2698 Jaguar MK2

• Das fertige Modell auf 10 x10 cm / 3.9 x 3.9 inches • 

Der Jaguar Mark 2 war eine viertürige Oberklassen-Limousine, die ca. 1959 gebaut wurde. Mein Ansatz beim Malen war wieder: Schnell und einfach zu sein. Also insgesamt hat es wieder rund eine Viertelstunde gedauert, dieses Bild zu zimmern.

Darauf erkenne ich dann, ob es sich lohnen würde, das Ganze in einem größeren Format zu realisieren. Oder eben nicht.

The Jaguar Mark 2 was a four-door luxury sedan built around 1959. My approach to the painting was again: be fast and easy. So all in all it took about 15 minutes to timber this car. I now can easily recognize whether it would be worthwhile realizing the stuff in a larger format. Or not.

La Jaguar Mark 2 était une berline de luxe à quatre portes construite vers 1959. Mon approche de la peinture était de nouveau : être rapide et facile. Il a donc fallu encore un quart d'heure pour faire cette photo.

Ensuite, je me rends compte s'il vaudrait la peine de réaliser l'ensemble dans un format plus grand. Ou pas.
