Gestern folgte dann die Gruppennachbesprechung der beim »Click and Walk« gemachten Fotos und die Auswahl einiger Bilder für eine geplante Präsentation auf dem »Tag der Niedersachsen«. 
Das ist mein erstes Motiv, was ich hiervon soeben als Daily Painting umgesetzt habe.

Die Klosterruine in Walkenried im Harz ist das Ziel unserer gestrigen Skizzentour gewesen. Unsere Neunertruppe hat eine interessante Führung genossen, ein Kniesteressen erlebt und danach haben wir ein paar weitere Skizzen gemacht.

The monastery ruins in Walkenried in the Harz has been the target of our yesterday's sketches tour. Our nine people enjoyed the interesting tour, experienced a typical local potatoe food and then we made some more sketches.

Clocher

Das ist ein kleiner Glockenturm an einem unscheinbaren Hintereingang. (Zur Kirche?) Hier werden inzwischen auch Priester per Videokamera überwacht.

This is a small bell tower on an unimpressive back entrance. (To the church?) I assume that priests are also under video surveillance.

E-Kirche

Die Elisabethkirche von der alten Kinderklinik aus gesehen. Hieran haben wir ganz besondere Erinnerungen. Auf dem Parkplatz findet übrigens auch der schöne Wochenmarkt statt.

WeihnachtsMarktKirche

Dieses Jahr empfing mich der Hannoveraner Weihnachtsmarkt mit heftigem Schneefall und einer eisigen Hand. Selbige hatte ich dann auch beim draußen Zeichnen nach kurzer Zeit. In der Kirche suchte ich Zuflucht und Wärme und bekam sogar ein Gratiskonzert zum Advent geboten.

This year the Hanoverian Christmas market welcomed me with heavy snow and an icy hand (which I also got when drawing outside for a while). I sought refuge in the church and found a warm welcome and even got offered a free concert for Advent.

La Placita

Gerne wieder ein Bild eines Platzes mit kanarischer Kirche aus Sicht unseres Cafés?

Kleine Kapelle

In El Paso gibt es eine Hauptkirche und darüber eine ältere kleine Kapelle mit einer gut besuchten  Tapasbar davor. Von hier aus hat man einen schönen Blick auf einen dreieckigen Platz. Ich setze also die Reihe "Kaffeetrinken und Skizzieren" fort. 

Small Chapel
In El Paso, there is a small chapel with a small tapas bar in front of it. From here you have a beautiful view to the triangular square. So I continue my series "drinking coffee while sketching".

Mazo

Die reizende Stadt Mazo hat einen kleinen Bauernmarkt. Dieser findet in einer Mehrzweckhalle statt, die leider etwas weniger hübsch daherkommt. Dafür entschädigt  der Blick Richtung Meer auf San Blas, eine im typisch kanarischen Stil errichtete Kirche. 

The lovely town of Mazo has a small farmers' market. This takes place in a multi-purpose hall, which is unfortunately a little less pretty. Full compensation offers the view towards the sea at San Blas, a church built in typical Canarian style.

Der Kirchhof

Meine selbstgestellte Aufgabe sah für heute ein Bild vor, welches mit nur 50 Pinselstrichen gemalt wird. Nun, ich habe es auch mit 100 nicht ganz geschafft. Es fokussiert aber dennoch das Arbeiten ungemein:
Was ist wichtig? Was lasse ich weg? Der untere Teil ging mir noch gut von der Hand. Mit der Kirche und dem Baum bin ich aber noch nicht ganz zufrieden. 

The Churchyard
My current self-imposed study plan  for today called for a picture that is painted with only 50 brushstrokes. Well, what should I say, I failed on that. But it focused yet the work immensely:
What is important? What do I leave out? The lower part of the painting went well out of hand. With the church and the tree I am still not satisfied.

Wegskizzen

Inzwischen nehme ich bei fast jedem Trip in die City oder zu Veranstaltungen in Freizeit und Beruf ein Skizzenbüchlein mit. Und oft ergibt sich bei einer Pause im Café oder bei einem Konzert die Gelegenheit den Zeichenstift zu zücken. Heute mal zwei Beispiele, unter anderem von der langen Nacht der Kirchen in Hannover am Freitag und vom Hofcafé Mittelrode.

Road Sketches
Meanwhile, I take my sketchbook on almost every trip to the city and to all kind of evets. And often I pull out the pen on a short coffebreak or at a concert. Today two examples. From the long night of the churches in Hanover on Friday and from an Farm Café in Middle Rode.

Nicht erst seit heute gibt es also Menschen (wie mich), die gerne in den Himmel starren. Vorzugsweise hinter einem Kameraobjektiv. Heute gibt es die Alte Inselkirche auf Spiekeroog zu sehen.

Ja, die Königin der Herzen war sie.
Louise von Preußen. Nein, war nur ein Scherz.
Keine Ahnung, wer dort die in Steine gemeißelte Queen an der Kirchenfassade ist.

Wittenburg

Auf der Rückfahrt ein kurzer Daily-Painting-Stop in der Nähe der Wittenburger Klosterkirche. Nur 20 Jahre hatte sie das Vergnügen bemöncht zu werden. Danach klopfte Luther an. Allerdings in Wittenberg.

On the way back, I did a short daily painting stop in the vicinity of the Wittenburg monastery church. Only 20 years it had the pleasure to be monked. Then Luther knocked on the door. However, that was in Wittenberg.

Bothfelder Kirche

Nach eher mäßigem gestrigen Erfolg beim Mittwochsgruppenskizzieren im Neuen Rathaus fuhr ich noch zur St. Nicolai Kirche in Bothfeld. Erste Kirchenbauten werden hier auf 1288 datiert. Also ein recht alter und zudem schöner Flecken.

Heute dürfte übrigens der 10.000 Besucher meiner Webseite gezählt werden! (Wovon die Hälfte aus »Spamumleitungen« stammt. Freut mich trotzdem sehr! Und morgen gibt's Info zur geplanten Ausstellung!

Bothfield Church
After a rather moderate success with my Wednesday Sketches in the Old City Hall yesterday, I went to St. Nicholas Church in Bothfeld. The first church here is dating back to 1288. So it is a very old and also a rather beautiful spot.

Today, I probably will say hello to the 10,000th visitor of my website! (Well, half of them refers to the "spam diversion" I'm nonetheless very glad about this! And tomorrow there's info about my upcoming exhibit!

Die nördlichste Kathedrale im venezianischen Barockstil mitten in Hannover. Gestern skizziert und heute in schwarz-rot-gold verewigt. Stehen auf dem Altar wirklich Schweini und Gomez als »TippKick®«-Figuren?

The northernmost cathedral in Venetian Baroque style right in the middle of Hanover. Sketched yesterday and today immortally outlined in black, red and gold. Is it really Schweiny and Gomez standing on the altar as »TippKick®« playing figures ?

Ein weiterer Schattenplatz in der alten Sankt Peters Kirche in Visby. Nun ist in den Ruinen ein Freiluftcafé und die Natur gewinnt ihr Terrain zurück...

Mount Deister

Gestern sind wir in der großen weiten Welt des hannoverschen Umlandgebirges gecruised (der Deistergipfel liegt unglaubliche 40.500 cm ü NN). Die letzten Sonnenstrahlen genossen wir dann im Freitagshof in Bakede mit schönem Blick auf die uralte Kirche und einem fast noch besseren Blick auf die delikaten frischen Hoftorten.

Yesterday, we cruised the the big wide world of the Hanover mountains region (summit lies incredibly 1.312 ft above sea level). Enjoyed the last rays of sunshine on the Friday's farm in Bakede with a nice view on the old church and an even better view on the delicious cakes.
