Manche Tage sind irgendwie so vollgepackt, das ich den Folus nur noch auf schnelle Skizzen legen kann. Das angefangene Aquarell von der Szene unten links (Brückenszene) ist leider nicht fertig geworden.

Some days are so jam-packed that there's only time for a few sketches. I'd started a watercolor of the scene at the bottom left (bridge scene) but it's not yet finished.

Ein Bild aus besseren Wetterzeiten. Momentan nervt hier der Dauerregen.
Aber spätestens heute wird es wieder besser:
Der Regen wird wärmer.

Den Spruch mit »eine Kuh macht muh, viele Kühe machen Mühe...« kann ich ja nicht mehr nehmen. Oh, jetzt habe ich es doch getan, sorry... 
Dies ist mein Beitrag zur DPW-Challenge dieser Woche.

The German common phrase "One cow makes mooh, many cows make trouble ..." can't be translated properly as you can see. So please take it, as it is.

1461 Mini-Me

Samstag habe ich in der Kinderabteilung eines Bekleidungsfachgeschäfts die seltsam und schlecht gemachte Cartoonserie »Mr. Bean« gesehen. Okay, wir haben keinen Fernseher zuhause... Eigentlich finde ich den alten Mini und Mr. Bean echt kultig, aber so ein richtiger Fan bin ich nicht. 
Das gilt für beide.

Saturday, one of those odd (and really bad produced) cartoon series »Mr. Bean« series was shown in the kiddies section of a clothes shop. Okay, we do not have TV at home ... Actually I like the old Mini and Mr. Bean – but I'am far from being a true fan. 
This applies to both, the Mini and the Bean.

1460 Little Venice

So nennt man ja jede Pfütze, die durch eine Stadt zieht und über die eine oder mehrere Brücken führen. Hier in Hannover hinter dem Leineschloss mit dem Blick aufs Neue Rathaus sieht es aber wirklich ganz »authentisch« aus. Jedenfalls lässt es sich leidlich gut malen ;)

Das war wohl die Woche der Kupferkuppeldächer...

So it is often named every little puddle that flows through a city with one or more little bridges. In Hanover behind the Leinecastle with a view to the New Town Hall it looks really quite »authentic«. Anyway, it can reasonably be painted well enough ;)

That was probably the week of copper domes ...

Vielen Dank für die Blumen, die mir die Kursteilnehmer letztes Wochenende für meine Frau gesponsert haben. Habe diese heute für euch gemalt! 
Nicht ganz 100 Striche, eher ein paar Dutzend mehr ;)

Nun ist es genau 4 Jahre her, dass ich mit dem Daily Painting angefangen habe!

Purple Coneflower

Thank you for the flowers that my students from the last weekend have sponsored  for my wife. Today I painted them for you!

Das Hannover Kongress Centrum wird gerade innen umgebaut. 
Außen sieht es aber noch sehr genau wie früher aus: 
Trutzig und mit großer Kuppel. Schön zum Malen eben.

The Hannover Congress Centrum is just beeing remodeled inside. Outside it looks still very accurate: Defiant and with a large dome. Beautiflly to paint though.

1457 Drama, Baby!

Na, so ähnlich jedenfalls. Hatte gestern irgendwie Lust, einen dramatischen Himmel in Acryl zu malen. Und dann auch noch sooooo groß 
– Jedenfalls für jemanden, der meist in 20 x 20 malt.

Well, something like that, anyway. Yesterday I somehow liked to paint a dramatic sky in acrylic. And a sooooo big one 
- at least for someone who paints mostly in 8 x 8.

Gleiches Motiv wie gestern in anderer Technik zum direkten Vergleich. Dass unter der Kuppel ein Kino ist, hatte ich schon irgendwann mal in diesem Blog erwähnt.

The same motif as yesterday in another media for direct comparison. Under the dome is a cinema as I had already written somewhere here in this blog.

Heute war ich an der Goseriede in Hannovers Innenstadt. Der Blick zum Anzeiger Hochhaus ist aus dem Schatten der Bäume des alten Friedhofs aus recht schön.

Today I painted near the Goseriede in the centre of Hanover. The view is quite nice while standing in the shadow of the trees on the old cemetery.

Einige Mitglieder der Strichzähler-Truppe - Some members of the stroke-counting-crew 

Schade, schon der letzte Tag meines Workshops in der Kunstfabrik Hannover. Heute traute ich mich an eine »100 Striche-Demo«: Ich durfte maximal 100 einzelne Striche an diesem Weinreben-Bild machen. Mist! Die Teilnehmer haben natürlich akribisch jeden kleinsten Strich mitgezählt. Trotzdem eine nette und aufmerksame Truppe, die sich dort zusammenfand. Morgen folgt noch ein kleines Resümee mit ein paar Bildern. 

Hoffe, ihr hattet eine gute und sichere Rückreise.

Grape Leaf demo

Already the last day of my workshops in the ArtFfactory Hanover. Today I showed the »100 strokes demo«: I was allowed to make a maximum of 100 individual strokes on this vine-image.  Damn! My fellow participants meticulously counted every little stroke. A nice and attentive group working together under my command (hah!). Tomorrow follows a small summary with a few pictures. Hope you all had a save trip home.

Als Demo malte ich eine schnelle Landschaft mit Erläuterungen zu Farben mischen und Komposition. Ich nutze nur die drei Grundfarben (blau rot und gelb) plus weiß.

As a demo I painted a landscape with quick explanations how I mix colors and composition. I only use the three primary colors (blue red and yellow) plus white.
