Chromosom heißt wörtlich übersetzt "chrōma" für Farbe und "sōma" für Körper.

Also Farbkörper, womit wir wieder bei der Malerei wären.

That has something to do with the chromosomes.

So it is the color body, which brings us back to the subject of painting.

Nach unserem selbst organisierten neunstündigen (!) Kurs Aquarellbegeisterter im Atelier von Audrey, finde ich meine einfachsten Übungsskizzen fast am schönsten.

Wir haben gegenseitig von den Tipps und Erfahrungen profitiert und es hat zudem einen Riesenspaß gemacht. So soll es doch sein! Danke auch an Kati, die dies alles meisterlich with a little help from a friend ;) durchstrukturiert hat.

People in Watercolor

After our nine-hour (!) workshops for and with watercolor enthusiast in Audrey's studio, I like my simplest exercise sketches the most.

We have mutually benefited from the given advice and experiences.

And it was a lot of fun too. This is, how it should be!

1276 The Blues Band

Gestern abend war ich auf dem Konzert der fabulösen Blues Band. Zum ersten Mal sah ich sie live im WDR Rockpalast 1980. Und mit genau diesem Programm tourt sie nun 35 Jahre später wieder herum. Es war ein eindrucksvolles schönes Konzert. 

Heute ist der Kurs "Menschen im Aquarell" der DAGGWS Regionalgruppe West. 

Habe die ganze Woche ja schon Menschen geübt...

Last night I was at the concert of the fabulous Blues Band. For the first time I saw them live at Rockpalast in 1980 (a TV Event). And 35 years after this is precisely the program of their actual tours around now. It was an impressive and awsome concert. 

Today is the workshop "People in Watercolor" by the DAGGWS Regional Group West. 

That's why I have practiced figurative painting the whole week long...

What I already hinted yesterday, today is clarifies again today: 
The Lisbonians love their roof antennas. 
Do they still suffer from analog signals? 
In the end these wire meshes keep the houses from breaking together?

Lissabon von etwas weiter oben zu malen ist gar nicht schwer, da es sieben Hügel gibt, auf denen schöne Miradouros, also Aussichtsterrassen sind. Dort ist dann auch oft etwas länger die Sonne zu genießen.

Sloping Roofs

It's easy to to paint Lisbon from somewhat above, since there are seven hills on which you can find beautiful Miradouros (viewing terraces). Here the sun was lasting a bit longer on our skins.

Wenn man eine Woche lang nur Aquarelle und Skizzen gemacht hat, freut man sich umso mehr auf die Acrylfarben. Dies ist mein Blick von der Terrasse unseres Hotels auf die Hausdächer des Lissaboner Chiado-Viertels.

Ein extravagantes altes Stadthaus im orientalen Stil wurde zum kleinen Kunsthandwerkerhaus »Embaixada« umgebaut. 

An old townhouse in an extravagant oriental style was converted into a small crafts house »Embaixada".

Da muss man erst mal fünfzig Jahre alt werden, um das erste Mal in ein sogenanntes »Etablissement« zu geraten. Dieses ist inzwischen nur noch eine Cocktail-Bar. Ich habe brav dort nur einen Kaffee getrunken – es war noch nicht meine Happy Hour.

I had to turn fifty before I dared to go into a house of pleasure. Uhm, but this one now is only a cocktail bar. I have just been drinking there a cup of coffee – it was not yet my happy hour.
