Golfspelz

Das heutige Daily Painting erinnert mich irgendwie an mein erstes Auto, einen roten Golf I. Leider nur farblich. Denn diesen Ford Mustang aus den späten Sechzigern hätte ich natürlich lieber gehabt.

Golf Clothing
Somehow this '68 Ford Mustang reminds me of my first car, (sorry for that) a red Golf I. Unfortunately the only thing in common is its color. Sure I would have preferred the Mustang.

Marktkirche II

Gestern war wieder Hannover-Skizzentag. In der Kirche gab es ein wunderschönes Orgelspiel und wir zeichneten, bis wir nichts mehr sehen konnten und der Küster uns rauskomplimentierte.

Like every Wednesday, yesterday was my Hanover Sketching Day. In the market church there was a beautiful organ recital and we sketched until we could not see nothing and the sexton ushered us out.

Der »Ami 6« von Citroën stammt aus den 60igern.
Ausgesprochen »Lamisiss« wurde daraus »La Missis«.
Auf deutsch »Das Fräulein«.

The »Ami 6« was built in the 60s and comes from Citroën.
Pronounced »La misiss« it turned in Germany to »Fräulein«.

Jemand scheint hier allen umherlaufenden Kühen, Schafen, Ziegen und Bäuerinnen die Glocken gemopst zu haben.

Gestern haben wir im schönen Schwarzwald ein Familienfest gefeiert. Rodeln bei schönstem Wetter auf dem Schauinsland inklusive.

Säulenheilige

Kleiner Ausflug ins sehr schön vor zwei Jahren wiedereröffnete Freiburger Augustinermuseum. Brav aufgereiht stehen dort die Statuen in einem Säulengang und warten auf ihre Skizzierung.

Pier 51

Jetzt habe ich das kleine »Jubiläum« doch verpasst. Inzwischen gibt es meine »Daily Paintings« schon über ein halbes Jahr! Ich hoffe, es macht euch noch genausoviel Spaß, wie mir. Gestern war unsere Skizzengruppe am auftauenden Maschsee, der leider nicht mehr zum Betreten freigegeben ist.

Now I really have missed my little »anniversary«. I'm now daily painting for about over half a year. I hope you're still enjoying it as much as me. Yesterday our urban sketching group interpreted the thawing Maschsee, which is no longer cleared for ice skating.

Brandung

Das Bild passt irgendwie zu meiner Meeresstimmung der letzen Tage. Es könnte zwar auch an der Ostsee sein, ist aber auf den Azoren. Genauer gesagt, auf der kleinen Insel Faial.

Surf
The picture somehow fits into my marine atmosphere of the last days. While it could be on the Baltic Sea, it actually is on the Azores. More specifically, on the small island of Faial.

Das eigentlich für heute geplante Motiv ist leider nichts geworden. Manchmal ist das Zweitbeste aber auch gerade gut genug. Vielleicht lässt das den »mitleidig-arrogant-gönnerhaft-ich-hab's-dir-doch-gesagt«-Blick der abgebildeten Dame erklären?

The actually planned painting for today has become a complete flop. But sometimes the second-best is even good enough. Perhaps this can explain the »compassionate-arrogant-patronizing-haven't-I-told-you-before«-view of the painted lady ?

Sie tanzte, verzauberte und blickte verführerisch in die Runde. Ganz, wie man es von einer orientalischen Tänzerin erwartete. So geschehen nicht in Tausendundeiner Nacht, sondern letzten Mittwoch @ Dr. Sketchy's. Schaut sie nicht ein bisschen aus, wie Prinzessin Leia, als sie Jabbas Sklavin sein musste?

She danced, enchanted and gazed seductively towards us. Exactly as you expect it from an oriental dancer. This happened not in A Thousand and One Nights, but last Wednesday @ Dr. Sketchy's. Doesn't she look a bit like Princess Leia as Jabba's slave?
