Vorgestern haben wir ausgiebig in unserem alten Reisetagebuch geschmökert. Erstaunt haben wir gemerkt, wie stark sich in den letzten 22 Jahren, seit wir zuletzt dort waren, unsere Ansprüche gewandelt haben. Damals ging es mit einem Bus voller Konservendosen, haltbarer Salami und säckeweise Tütensuppen, Nudeln und Reis sowie 2 Flaschen Ballantines nach Norwegen. 
Dieses Mal lassen wir die Tütensuppen weg.

Some days ago, we have extensively browsed in our old travel diary. Astonished, we noticed how strongly our claims changed in the last 22 years since we were the last time in Norway. We'd been students and loaded our Volkswagen Bus full with cans, longlasting salami and tons of instant soup, pasta and rice as well as 2 bottles of Ballantines.

Okay, »high« is maybe somehow exaggerated. But for a Lower Saxony lowland inhabitant 2.400 feet elevation of the Dentelles de Montmirail's peak seems to be high enough.

Between us, the TV cartoon series with these moonfaces causes  physical discomfort in me, just at zapping by. Quite the opposite, when I think of the park and the café of the same name in San Francisco. Distinctly, this belongs to my personal list of »1.000 things you should have painted«.

Heute habe ich versucht, einen neuen Ansatz zu abstrakten Bildern zu bekommen. Ich weiß auch nicht, was das nun geworden ist, was bei ungegenständlichen Werken nun auch nicht verwundert. Das Ergebnis gefällt mir und das Malen hat viel Spaß gemacht.

Today I tried a new approach to abstract images. I really don't know what that is. But that's somehow not surprising considerincg non-representational work. I like the result, and the painting was a lot of fun.
